Hi everyone, I’m nearing the end of down reg, 1 week left of just synarel with my baseline scan on Tuesday. I was just wondering if anyone knows what happens at the scan, is it to check essentially there’s nothing there and the lining has been shed etc?
And also what happens if things aren’t quite right, can they extend the down reg phase another week or so to get you to where you need to be to start stimulation?
Thanks everyone, I must admit doing this alone means I have questions constantly and nobody to even say them out loud to!
Thank you for any advice/help
X

Hi lovely. I've not been on synarel, but at my baseline scan they just checked the womb lining thickness and also had a look at my ovaries. As usual, they told me I had a cyst on my left-hand side (been there since the start of IVF!) and the nurse could already see some follicles starting. Impressed you are doing this solo! You can always talk to us on here xxx
Thank you for that, it’s reassuring. I just wasn’t sure what to expect and never know if I am doing anything right or wrong. Thank you I appreciate that, it’s certainly hard and I’m only a few weeks in but I’m gonna try my best x
Oh it's definitely hard, but it's difficult to do anything wrong (they wouldn't trust us non-medical people to do our own meds otherwise) and as Cinders and Diane have said below your clinic can change things up depending on what your body's doing. xxxx
Hey, I had to stay on down regulation longer and my meds were changed from Nasal spray to buserelin injections as my lining had shed a little but not enough so yes its flexible. Hopefully that wont happen for you though and you get a good bleed with the meds. They'll also check your ovaries at the same time and can you may even come home with your stims meds the same day with a date to start! Good luck.xx
Thank you that’s so helpful!!! It’s good to know they can extend if need be, I was just hoping it wasn’t a case of no it’s not worked and that’s the end. I hand my stims drugs already, they sent it all to me in advance so it’s very daunting and I’ve not much room left in my fridge! 🤣 thank you again, that’s really helped put my mind at rest x
You're welcome!! Its horrible stressing whe you dont really know how it all works! There's usually someone here that can help so dont hesitate to shout!xx
Hi LisaBeatrix. Some women need to be on Syneral longer than others. 1-2 weeks is the norm but can be longer if necessary. Checking that there are no active cysts on your ovaries and the womb lining is nice and thin. Hope all goes well. Diane
