on cycle attempt 7 here, first time ever with Buserelin given from day 21 for down reg. however I’m now on day 31 and still no sign of my period. The clinic said to call to arrange a scan for day 3. Has anyone done this before? How long did you take Buserelin? Is it normal to make your period late? I’m now starting to panic!! Please any help/advice???

Hi, I'm in this position right now too. Currently on cycle day 33 buserelin day 13 and no bleed yet.
I have a scan tomorrow as my clinic boon them in at set intervals so they can check what's going on.
However this is my second round of IVF and exactly the same thing happened on the first round. I didn't start bleeding until the evening of day 14 of buserelin after the scan. It made no difference to me, the clinic just delayed stims for a week until I had bled and then we carried on. I also had to stop for a little longer last round, some people just take longer to react to the meds, try not to panic.
You could always ask your clinic for a scan as they should be able to see if your close to bleed based on the thickness of the lining xx

Oh we almost both at the same point. Still no sign yet. When I went on day 21 the lining was thick then so I can understand it. I’m really fed up with all the waiting around.
Do you mean you had to wait longer between doing another cycle? No one has told me this!!!
I going to contact them today if still no sign by 12 midday as if after 12 it will be classed as tomorrow.

Everything IVF is about waiting unfortunately, it drove you crazy! No I didn't have to wait another cycle, I mean that they had to push me starting stomach injections back by a week to allow me to bleed first. You can't start stims until you've bled as the lining will be thick and unstable, and you want it to be thin to start stims and to thicken as you go along. It's like getting rid of all the old stuff to make way for the new.
So last time I had three weeks of buserelin instead of two, and then most people stop for around 10 days, I had to for 16 days. I don't know if I had to stim longer because I'd down regulated for longer or if I was naturally just slow to respond. .it didn't do us any harm tho as we still got 11 eggs which made 7 blasts. Xx
Hi thanks for clairfying ah no one told me this either!!! The clinic said to come on day 3 and I would start stuns then. I feel like I keep not been told things. They keep making us wait for transfers (when we do have something to transfer) we have been doing ivf for 4 years and had two transfers, I feel like the clinic prolongs the wait at times! I duno why they didn’t just book me a routine scan like you advised your clinic have done.

It is so frustrating really. We've been doing IVF for years now and are lucky to have a brilliant clinic, but your always waiting for the next point, the next period, start the next med, the next scan, transfer, it's, scan. It's very draining. Yes when told day one my clinic booked the baseline scan for 14 days after starting buserelin and also booked stims scans for next week on the understanding that they may move if I took longer to down reg, as I have. So I go in tomorrow anyway and then they will get me to come back again next week for another scan and if I've bled by then they will let me start stims.
I do think some clinics get a little blasé on the details as they do it so often they don't think to explain all the 'ifs' that could happen. Hopefully it will be fine tho and you will start bleeding soon, I'm hoping to in the next few days then its back on track just a week behind xx

Yes I’m also quite sceptical as I had down reg (Prostap for adeno) for three months before transfer over 12months ago and I’ve never had a regular period since. That’s the last transfer we did was July last year and now we still in a position we haven’t been able to have a transfer. They keep saying they will do all these things then don’t do them. I’m really fed up now, this is our 8th cycle and we only ever had two transfers. Have you had much more luck than us?
The original plan was for low dose very mild stim due to low AMH - they collected the egg too early and it wasn’t mature that’s the third time it wasn’t mature and now they have decided to change the trigger but why not change it the first time?
