1st time unlucky 😔 OTD BFN

Evening all,

The title says it all really. I just wanted to update those of you who wished us well on our first transfer 💕

Unfortunately, it just wasn’t meant to be 💔

We both feel kind of numb and heartbroken at the same time. Definitely the hardest thing emotionally.

Trying to look for positives: We’ve got two more frosties at blastocyst stage so hoping all isn’t lost. We’ve also got our close friends wedding abroad to look forward to in June.

For now we’re thinking of taking a break from it all until after our friends wedding. We feel like we need to have some rest and recuperation from this relentless journey and re connect ourselves for a while.

We will definitely be back 💪🏼

Thank you lovely, it really is tough isn’t it?! I didn’t think I’d get so upset when seeing the negative test result I’ve seen my fair share over the years but it absolutely broke me 💔 thankful for all you fabulous warriors for keeping me sane through this! xxx

So sorry to hear about your BFN. It's really tough. We always hope in the back of our mind that we will be one of those lucky ones where it'll happen first time and it can be a bit shocking when it doesn't. I still remember that from my first BFN. Good decision to take a little break.. and great that you've a lovely occasion to look forward to. I wish you lots of strength and send hugs xx❤️❤️

Thank you for your lovely message Tryagain. I think you’re right, we were both hoping we’d be one of the lucky couples that found success from our first transfer but we definitely weren’t fully prepared for it to be a no.

A little break will do us some good I think 💕 xxx

Sending hugs 💖💐💐💐 it defo takes a few days of up and down and also to get the extra hormones out of your system. I found the hardest part was being hopeful and trying to switch the hope off after it was over, guess it just shows ya that you can keep going .... if you have some hope left if that makes sense. Good idea to plan some non intense ivf things to look forward to. 😎👌🏻

Yeah, that makes total sense! Without hope we have nothing, do we 💗 I really appreciate your kind wishes and understanding, we’ve only told my sister about our IVF journey but she has 3 beautiful, naturally conceived, gorgeous little ones so she doesn’t understand, as much as she does try.

It’s just hard to explain to someone whose never been through it how hard it is to paint on your game face constantly.

Hoping to be straight back into it after the wedding.
