Do I go for ET 😌 bump in the road, advice please 😊

Hi all,

Hope you are all well.

I would just like some advice I had my eggs collected 2 weeks ago and we managed to get 5 good blastocysts. 🙏 I would just like some advice on what people suggest I should do? So my specialist planned get my embryos on freeze which they are then whist on freeze put me on the prostap for 2/3 months to get my endometriosis to its best state. He has also found a small amount of adenomyosis in my womb and thinks I could have a small polyp so he suggested I have an mri and then depending on the results If needed have Hysteroscopy. My issue is I’m am no longer registered with my gyne as I’ve been discharged. My gyne are saying because it’s not a medical reason and my mri is being done for a purpose they don’t think needs to be done they cant just refer me. So basically they are saying I would have to be referred back to gyne from my gp to request my mri and possible hysterocopy. My worry is the nhs in my case have never been very fast and my endo has got bad because of delays etc. I think I only have a small amount of adenomyosis and he’s not sure if what I have is a polyp I think he just wants to feel he’s done the best he can which I understand but I feel like my heart is telling me from my past I need to learn and I can not wait on the nhs again. So I’m thinking just go on the prostap for 2/3 months like he suggested and then go for the transfer??? What does everyone think. I’m looking at doing another egg collection so I’m hoping to have a few embryos to use but I think maybe trying to implant whilst I’m waiting for the nhs referrals??? not only is time against me but I’ve recently just had surgery so my endo is at its best and waiting on the nhs will only cause my operation removal of endo to become pointless. What should I do? I don’t want to waste my eggs but I can not wait.I’ve asked for a referral to speak to my specialist. Thanks 🙏 xxxx any advice will be appreciated

If you can I would get a second opinion, maybe book a private consultation with a fertility specialist if you can (I know these things aren’t the cheapest 🥴) and then you can make your decision based on that. I’m no expert so wouldn’t like to say what’s the right thing to do BUT I do always trust my gut instinct, so that combined with a second opinion should show you the way to go.

P.S I’m so glad I went for a second opinion, my first consultant said I wasn’t a good candidate for IVF and the likelihood was it would never work. I almost gave up but went for a second opinion to a fertility specialist, not gynae, and here I am snuggled up to my baby girl 💗

Best of luck xxxx

Awwwww that’s lovely. I like nice endings.... yes your totally right my mum says the same. Go with your gut. I don’t think the adenomyosis is a huge section and he think the shadow in the womb could just be a bump in the carpet as he put it but I just don’t feel my heart is telling me to wait. I don’t think my body will take the nhs waiting time. This is why I’ve gone private for my ivf xxxx

I was the same, I’m 30 and got an amh of 6, which is very low for my age, so time was really up against me. I had to go private as I had a little boy when I was younger and didn’t have the issues I have now. I think you should just go for it, you’ve got age on your side and really good embryos. Good luck 💗💗💗

My AMH is 14 at the min but 4 years ago it was 33 so it’s dropping I have stage 4 endo and some adenomyosis in the womb so I don’t really want to wait. I’ve booked to see my specialist in a few weeks to tell him I went to just go ahead with down regulation and then egg transfer. I don’t want my body to get worse. I think I’m going to take your advice xxxx I hope I get good results

Hmmm eggs/embryos are precious, but then so is time! My clinic thought I had a suspected polyp and wouldn't even let me continue with my IVF until I had a hysteroscopy. Obviously the NHS said it would be absolutely months (at best), and like you they said the GP would have to refer me to the Gynae (and I would have to have an initial appointment with the Gynae before having a hysteroscopy), so I went and had one privately. At a cost, of course. And they found basically nothing so we were put back for no reason (although at least not as long as on the NHS). HOWEVER, if it had been something that would have impeded implantation, then I would have worried about transferring an embryo.....

But then if your endometriosis is at its best and it's only a small polyp I'd want to go ahead. I don't know how much of an impact adenomyosis has... What does your clinic say about adenomyosis?

Lots of love xxxxx

He said it’s only a small part of adenomyosis. My issue is if I wait on nhs then it might progress and the womb will become not safe. I think he’s just being extra save and trying the best he can because he’s private. I’ve paid for it so I think he wants good results. The polyp he said he’s not sure that’s what it even is. So I just don’t know if I should risk it. It’s hard because my endo progresses quickly xxxx thanks for your kind words I just feel so stuck

I completely agree with all your concerns! Can you get your polyp looked at privately quickly? I would want to get on with everything too. xxxx

He isn’t sure if it is a polyp that why he wants mri doing. When I was pregnant 10 years ago they thought I was having twins as they thought was 2 embryos but it wasn’t so I’m wondering if this is build up blood like they said on my scan and it’s been there over 10 years xxxx

Wow if it was old blood from 10 year ago... that would be weird.

Can you get the mri privately to speed things up?

Yes that is an option but it’s not the mri that’s the wait it’s the clear out of the womb as I would have to be referred back to gyne xxxx I don’t know what to do
