ICSI & blastocyst

Hiya,

I wondered if anyone had had a BFP from ICSI, but their embryo was put in on day 2/3 (not a blastocyst). We are going for our last round and we are so nervous. And we have tons of questions. It would be lovely to get encouragement.

Xx

Hi, I had second round of icsi last year and had a top quality 2 day embryo transferred. We got a bfp and I am currently awake after doing the night feed with our little boy so a day 2 transfer can definitely result in a bfp 🙂

I didn’t do ICSI but did a 3 day FET which resulted in my baby girl. Wishing you lots of luck xx

I'm currently 27 weeks with a 3-day transfer with ICSI. I also had a BFPs with a 2-day and a 3-day that sadly ended in MC. In my 5 rounds of IVF with ICSI, my 5-day blasts were never great quality and they never froze them. My doc believed that embryos may develop better in a natural environment, and felt that if you only had a few embryos, putting at least one back early was a safe bet. Then we'd always let the other ones develop and I always ended up happy I put at least one (sometimes two) back in so at least I had a shot if/when they didn't get to blast. Sending good vibes!

Hi Samosa. Some nice stories already for you in yur replies. As I explained to a previous "poster", years ago we didn't have the expertise to grow embryos on to Day 5 blastocysts, they were all Day 2 or 3 transfers. We still had plenty of pregnancies even then. Your little one will be back inside you where he/she belongs. Thinking f you. Diane

Hi when I had my first go ever of ICSI (4 years ago) they collected 16 eggs (I was 31 years old) and they all died by day 2 apart from 1 which was an A grade so they put that one in on day 2 as they didn't want to risk that one dying aswell and guess what we got lucky first time with a xmas day baby. She's 4 now. We've since been through ICSI 3 times and failed ☹ so yeah it can work if put back in after 2 days. Good luck 🤞
