Soo i had 4 eggs taken out today. Hubby gave material but they weren't very happy with the quality and he had to give another sample. I just had a phone call that the second sample wasn't better. So they are doing ICSI.
His semen analysis were great i don't know why turned out that way.
What is your experience with ICSI? I never read about it as i didn't think we will do it ๐๐xxxx

They basically inject the sperm into the egg which increases chance of fertilisation. We are having it done too mainly because we expect poor quality eggs!
Last time when we did IVF my one egg didnโt let any sperm penetrate as it had a thick exterior so ICSI will hopefully By-pass this ๐ค๐ป
Hi Kindmr. Not to worry, it is often used if sperm are lazy or poor swimmers, to inject them into each egg. Hopefully, doing this will give you a better chance of fertilisation and embryo transfer. Good luck with it all. Diane
We had ICSI,all 4 of my eggs fertilised with it so I'm glad we had it, my hubby has antibodies in his sample, so we were always going to have ICSI. It will give u the best chance, good luck ๐xox
The clinic I went to only did Icsi as the success chance is higher. If you go private it is considerably more to have Icsi. Don't think of it as a negative. Best of luck!xx
Heyy thank you. I'm trying to stay positive, im with a private clinic but through the NHS. The guys at the clinic are fantastic and they really help you stay calm and positive ๐๐๐คxxx
Our only option was ICSI as my partner has sperm antibodies and we have a 3 year old and I am currently 27 weeks pregnant with our second both from ICSI. It still amazes me what they can do! In my opinion the best option.
I donโt know if this is helpful but on my first go at iVF my hubby sample on the day wasnโt good. So they called him and asked him to provide a second one. Previous ones for analysis was good but on this particular day it wasnโt. And the embryologist told us sometimes not all come out in an ejaculation. So it could have been โold stockโ if you get want I mean. The 2 sample was a little better less in volume but better in Morphologic and movement. In the end they did ICSI too. I hope it all works out fir you my lovely.
Thank you so much. My husband semen analysis was great. Today they asked him for a second sample but was worse than the first one so they decided for the icsi. Fingers crossed they will have some good news for me in the morning xxz
Let me know how you get on and donโt be too worried. (Easier said than done). More often than not Clinicโs use ICSI - itโs in their best interest to do so..
Try not to worry to much hun. ICSI is commonly used in cases where the swimmers maybe aren't swimming so strong or in our case....very low count. In a lot of the clinics abroad they use ICSI as they're preference so they can select the best looking sperm. My hubby doesn't have great sperm samples but our fertilisation rates have always been really good!๐ค๐ค fingers crossed for good news for tomorrow.xx
Hubby had great semen analysis and poor him today is so depressed im keep telling him that there is no need to feel that way and whatever happens is what is meant to happen ๐๐๐ค Lets hope for the best. Thank you xxx
That's what im doing. will give him another big hug when he comes home ๐๐๐ค
My clinic use icsi as standard even though my husband has no sperm issues and we had donor egg. It's just their way. But from what I understand there is a train of thought that it works better. And for you it seems like the best way to move forward now, rather than freeze your eggs and wait months to see if your husband's sperm improves x
Yeap definitely. Im starting to put my hopes up too much. Seriosly even if doesn't happen now i just want hubby to not feel lile he felt today. Poor him i have never seen him that way.. I was thr one to be spoiled today but he needed it more haha xxx
Iโm 11 weeks pregnant with an ICSI baby. Our others were ivf. We were a bit taken aback when hubby was told it would be ICSI this time as his sample wasnโt as good as the first round but it worked out pretty much the same in the end; 5 blasts first round and 5 blasts second round xx
