Can my dates be so wrong?

So I haven’t posted for a while after my 2nd round of IVF ended in mmc last August but I have still been reading your posts everyday you are all so strong. We have been having a break but had pretty much decided that we would not try IVF again and planning life just the two of us and see what happens. So you can imagine my shock that I seem to have fallen pregnant naturally. It has been an emotional few months as my partners mother passed away completely unexpectedly end of last year so we haven’t even been trying very often. I have long cycles (anywhere between 33-37 days) so I currently think I’m just over 8 weeks based on a 34 day cycle. My midwife dated me at 9 weeks clearly based on a 28 day cycle and I went for a private scan today and they said I was around 6 weeks. They saw a gestational sac with yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat saying I was likely to be too early. I’m being rescanned in 2 weeks. Do any of those dates make sense for this pregnancy to be viable? Funnily enough if we count back 6 weeks that was when I would have ovulated knowing my longer cycles. I know I may now start bleeding and miscarry. Sorry for long post any thoughts welcome!

Oh my gosh! Congratulations!! Can't really help on the dates, but that's great they saw sacs and fetal pole. Sounds like you're quite unsure on the dates, so it might just take a bit longer and a few more scans down the line for them to know how it's all going. They do grow at different rates. None of this is an exact science! Not much you can do at the moment except to try and stay strong. All the waiting and worry is a nightmare! Hoping for the best for you. Lots of love. xxx

Thank you so much for your reply. It’s a bit of a waiting game at the moment but there are some positive signs there! Really do just have to wait and see what happens now. Xx
