Hi again, since my last post (Ed abroad) there has been a huge development.
Firstly a BFP! I was day 35 into my usual 28 day cycle and tested just for piece if mind as I have been advised by my consultant that due to previous ectopic pregnancy with complications of the tube rupturing, a low egg reserve and being a poor responder to 2 previous cycles of IVF, I wouldn't conceive naturally......well it seams I have!!!
My hcg levels have gone from 48 a week ago to 1499 yesterday and my progesterone is @30. However we had a scan yesterday and only a sac could be seen. I'm due to have repeat bloods tomorrow to see what the levels do hopefully they double. I'm super anxious now tho that after such a long journey I'm carrying an empty sac - has anyone had a similar experience with an early scan? (Which was internal)
I'm driving myself crazy, have been signed off work for a week to rest which is ironic how can I rest!!!

I had a similar thing happen. Low ovarian reserve, 3 failed cycles, last one very poor response and was on waiting list for donor eggs. Then fell pregnant! How many weeks were you when they scanned? Am sure it was just a little early to see anything as your hcg levels sound great! And assuming if they've seen a sac, then they know it's not ectopic? I'm now 20 weeks so am proof it can all progress after poor prognosis! Hope your repeat bloods give you the reassurance you need tomorrow and huge congrats! Xx
Wow, congratulations!! Sounds like its perhaps a bit early to see anything more that a sac, to early for anything else! Fingers crossed for your next one!xx
Just an update, unfortunately despite my hcg doubling and the number being positive, the scan last Monday showed that my pregnancy was ectopic. I've had surgery and am recovering physically at home.
Its been a really tough week but I am feeling better every day. My other half is off work to which has helped.
Good luck to u all I guess we'll eventually now go with egg donation however we're ensuring we recover mentally first.
Oh CJ I feel for you! I've experience an ectopic and it's shattering! Sending all my love.
But I think of it as a little positive that you can fertilise an egg but it just can't get to the right space. I have endo and scaring on my tubes so that's why I feel ivf is best for me. Make sure that embie goes in the right space!
Good luck with what ever you choose, own eggs or de!
Sorry to hear that. I really do believe that baby's come along when they are meant too. Hope you recover quickly and wishing you success with de. I am pregnant from my first de cycle! Hope!! Xxx
