Natural IVF?

Hi, hope you're all doing well despite this whole Coronavirus business. Has anyone heard of Natural IVF? If so, has anyone been through it or know of someone that has. And what are the success rates like? Thanks

Hi I have twice, rates our low 14% over 3 cycles. But it does depend on your age and your own fertility. Didnt work for us unfortunately xxx

Thanks for your response. I'm so sorry to hear that it didn't work. Did you go for medicated IVF then, if you don't mind me asking? Our infertility journey is due to a sperm issue. Do you think it could work for us? Xx

It was medicated I didnt find it much difference to normal ivf. Only get small numbers well I did I started of with 6 folicles and only 3 at collection and 1 only ever fertilised both times xxx

Hi Lindt. As you have sperm issues, you would find that the one egg collected would most likely need ICSI as the sperm 's ability to fertilise the egg would be compromised. I've been dealing with fertility issues for many years now, and I have only known of 5 successes with natural IVF, but Partners all had good sperm counts. I respect your decision, but my thoughts would be to do an drug induced IVF/ICSI cycle to hopefully create several embryos in order to freeze some, just in case the semen analysis should decline further. Good luck! Diane

Thanks Diane for the response. We've already had 3 fresh, drug induced IVF/ICSI cycles. First one ended in a miscarriage at 5 weeks, second one didn't implant and third cycle we didn't get any fertilisation 😥. I've never had anything to freeze and I feel I've put my body through quite a lot in just 12 months. Can you please suggest what other options we may have? Thanks

Hi Lindt. So sorry to hear hat you have been through so much, so I can fully understand your need to try something different. Whatever you do decide to do, perhaps, if you haven't already tried, you may need some support such as low dose soluble aspirin or heparin to ensure a good blood flow to your womb lining, and hopefully prevent any clot formation. Give your husband/partner a good quality multivitamin each day, and some extra zinc and selenium, which can help with sperm motility. Diane

I've had all the various tests done for clotting etc and everything has come back normal. I've been taking Pregnacare for over a year now along with CoQ10. My husband has been taking Proxeed Plus, Pregnacare and Zinc for over a year also. I just feel none of this has helped and each cycle seems to just be getting worse and worse. We have even started doing PICI along with ICSI......

Hi. Not much more I can add to that, except you seem have got all options covered with multivitamins. Obviously, I do wish you both well, and for success, with whatever you decide to go ahead with. Diane

I don’t think that this is the same as a full natural IVF but my daughter did a medicated collection cycle with a natural FET. It was her sixth attempt but MENTS she has now has a gorgeous baby boy.

Her second clinic thought the best approach was to really push the meds to collect as many eggs as possible. She had ICSI and PGS. The back to back collection cycles were very demanding but she found the natural FET much easier on the body.

The natural FET worked first time. (6th attempt)

Wishing you all the best x
