So we went to our NHS fertility appointment yesterday, all started well, Doctor was happy with all our test results, not worried about sperm issues as we want to pursue IVF anyway so they'll just do ICSI as well so that was fine. Thinking we'd come out having agreed the referral would be done...however as I'd had a laproscopy in August she wanted to scan me to have a look, and unfortunately there is fluid or endo or something around the left tube that 'doesn't look like you'd expect' so she wants the consultant who operated (who thank god works at the same place) to have a look. Which is good as we want everything to be tiptop but the consultant is in high demand so his first available appointment is 7th April! In the grander scheme of things I know this isn't too bad, but now I'm worried I might need more surgery. Trying to stay positive inspite of all the steps in this journey that make it so tricky!

Fingers crossed for you 🤞🏻 xx
Hopefully it won't be anything and they're just being thorough. I've had multiple "things" that turned out to not be "things" or they've decided aren't too bad, including my last hysteroscopy they were worried there might have been scarring around the tube from my laparoscopy, but on second opinion, it's fine. I feel like they do some of these things on purpose to delay us! But that's probably just my cynical side.
I’ve had to put my trying on hold on 4 occasions for various surgeries ( 3 were for endo) I get just how frustrating it is when you just want to crack with trying/treatment. But if I didn’t have these surgeries i wouldn’t have got my referral to the endo specialist & without his surgical skills I wouldn’t be here sat with my 8 month old daughter. Although it’s incredibly frustrating it is for the best you have everything in the best shape to give you the best chance of having your baby. Make sure the surgeon treats anything that is found a diagnostic lap is pointless because you might need additional surgery more waiting ( unless it’s complex endo which you’ll need an endo surgeon for) I have had 3 laps so if you have any questions on them feel free to ask me. Good luck xxx.
Awh thanks so much, so glad it worked out for you! Yep you're totally right, we need to be in the best position, just so frustrating haha. But we will get there!! Xx
It really is the waiting was the worst part of the journey. It took us 7 years to conceive our daughter but my goodness she was worth it. You will get there- every step you take is a step closer towards your goal. It’s a bit like jigsaw puzzle but eventually it will come together. Always have hope it’s the only thing that kept us fighting the battle xxx
