We have a treatment start date!!

So after a long wait and AF delaying for 4 days we finally have our 21 day cycle appointment. We start on the 9th of November where I am shown how to deal with the medication. We also have to have our blood tests.

One question the nurse asked me today which I didn’t even know about was if I wanted to be booked on for the ‘endometrial scratch’

Has anyone else had one of these on their first cycle of IVF?

Hope you are all well and I look forward to hearing you thoughts and advice xx

Wishing you lots of luck for your treatment! 🤞💕

Yes I underwent an endometrial scratch with this round of ivf and for the first time ever the transfer worked and I’m now 15 weeks pregnant 😊. It’s a bit like a smear really but a bit more uncomfortable, nothing too bad at all xX

Thank you, super excited to get going. It’s been a long long wait!

Thank you for your experience. Is this your first round of IVF? Xx

Oh I just read again .. first time ever the transfer worked. How many rounds have you had if you don’t mind me asking? Xxx

No worries. This was my second course of ivf but I was only 23 the first time around and I was 34 with this round, so was worried with being older. Thankfully it’s worked though 🙏. My clinic were trialling the endometrial scratch and have had quite a good success rate with it by all accounts. Is this your first round of ivf? Xx

Yeah it is my first round and I’m 36 so concerned with my age tbh!

I have read mixed results and some sites claiming it to be a waste of money etc ...

Difficult decision. But I think I may have a good chat with them when we go to treatment and see what their advise is too.

Exciting for you 15 weeks 😀😀👍🏻 xxx

I think your right to get as much info and advise as you can to make a decision. I have everything crossed for you that it’s a success🤞🙏

Yes we are over the moon and it’s still sinking in to be honest 😊 xX

I asked about having a scratch this time but our Dr said she’d only recommended having one if we’d had a couple of failed cycles, we’re due to start our second cycle next week so we’re going to give it a miss this time but with anything IVF related I think everyone should just go with whatever they feel best 😊 Good luck with everything sweetheart 💕 xxx

Thank you very much. This really is our first and only chance to try IVF as we only get 1 round from the NHS. It would be a long time before we could afford to go for a second try. So as you can imagine if something helps then I’d be willing give it a go.

Such a difficult decision though xxx

Oh my gosh, yeah, absolutely give it a go then! We’ve held off because of what the doctor said but also because we’ve had to go private from the start so we’re trying to save money wherever we can! From what I’ve heard it can’t do any harm so if you’re in a position where you can do it, go for it!xxx

Yay to getting going. Once you start stims things move fast thankfully.

I've had one transfer so far and I had a bfn unfortunately, I didn't have a scratch.

Good luck. Xxx

Glad things start to move fast.

Oh sorry to hear that! Will you be having a scratch next time? Xxx

They really do.

No, I don't think I will. The consultant I originally spoke with last August didn't recommend it.

I personally believe that it's down to my body at that time if that makes sense? Xxx

Great to hear you have a date to get started!

My clinic only offered the endometrial scratch after I’d already had a few unsuccessful embryo transfers/failed implantation.

I’ve had the scratch a couple of times now and it’s grand. I felt I’d nothing to lose in having it done.

Good luck with your treatment, let us know how you’re getting on xx
