So after a long wait and AF delaying for 4 days we finally have our 21 day cycle appointment. We start on the 9th of November where I am shown how to deal with the medication. We also have to have our blood tests.
One question the nurse asked me today which I didn’t even know about was if I wanted to be booked on for the ‘endometrial scratch’
Has anyone else had one of these on their first cycle of IVF?
Hope you are all well and I look forward to hearing you thoughts and advice xx

Yes I underwent an endometrial scratch with this round of ivf and for the first time ever the transfer worked and I’m now 15 weeks pregnant 😊. It’s a bit like a smear really but a bit more uncomfortable, nothing too bad at all xX
No worries. This was my second course of ivf but I was only 23 the first time around and I was 34 with this round, so was worried with being older. Thankfully it’s worked though 🙏. My clinic were trialling the endometrial scratch and have had quite a good success rate with it by all accounts. Is this your first round of ivf? Xx
I asked about having a scratch this time but our Dr said she’d only recommended having one if we’d had a couple of failed cycles, we’re due to start our second cycle next week so we’re going to give it a miss this time but with anything IVF related I think everyone should just go with whatever they feel best 😊 Good luck with everything sweetheart 💕 xxx
Thank you very much. This really is our first and only chance to try IVF as we only get 1 round from the NHS. It would be a long time before we could afford to go for a second try. So as you can imagine if something helps then I’d be willing give it a go.
Oh my gosh, yeah, absolutely give it a go then! We’ve held off because of what the doctor said but also because we’ve had to go private from the start so we’re trying to save money wherever we can! From what I’ve heard it can’t do any harm so if you’re in a position where you can do it, go for it!xxx
