Treatment dosage

Hi, I am 43 and only one follicle. I am wondering whether my treatment is too low. could anyone please share how much clomid and meriofert they are taking and if there is anything else that could help? It’s my second cycle, the first only got 1 egg that did not fertilise. Given my age, I am worried my last chance might not be used properly with too little drugs

Hi Lilly12255 - I'm 40 and taking 225 Meriofert which seems to be working ok, but I think these things are really individual and age isn't the only factor. Do you know your AMH? Mine is 13.7 and I think someone the same age but with a different number would need totally different drugs (though I'm a total newbie to all this!)

Thanks for you reply LC, sadly, my AMH is 0.2 so I am a very desperate case possibly only a few eggs are left

I am not using Meriofert but instead Menopur, I am 42 - 42 in 2 months - basically since I started my first round when I was 41 I have been on top dose (450), no messing about!

Are you doing IVF? Have they tried changing your protocol? that made a real difference for me x

Thank you for your reply Daisy. I am on IVF frozen cycle like last time, when it did not work. In the first cycle, they tried 150iu of meriofert every other day and 100mg clomid per day. This time, they are trying the same clomid but 225iu of meriofert every other day. My FSH was high (14) when I started my cYcle (on day 2). Now there is only 1 follicle growing.

I was on 300 of menopur (4 amps) no clomid and that was my NHS clinics max dose. My AMH was around 7.19 at the age of 38 we got once cycle of 6 good eggs and the other was 7 good eggs for ICSI.xx

Thanks for your reply Cinderella. So they tried with and without ICSI for you? Despite the fact that you had already 6 good eggs without ICSI? In my case, they suggested ICSI as the last egg did not fertilise but I am worried because they told me that ICSI damages the eggs potentially

We had ICSI as my hubby has a very low sperm count so IVF wasnt an option. We are now doing donor eggs as although we got nice looking eggs the quality wasnt there as we only got 3 blastocysts in total.xx

Dear Cinderella, 3 blastocyst is encouraging. Did you transfer them and they did not implant?

Yes that's correct. None of my embryos implanted however we have recently discovered my implantation window is out from the normal 5 days and I need another full 24hrs of progesterone to be receptive for implantation....you can check out my last post re the ERA test.xx
