So we attended our counselling session yesterday and also now my bmi is under 30 we could start our pre-treatment.
I had my internal scan to check follicles on my ovaries. She said it needed to be above 3 for nhs funding. I have 5 one side and 7 the other.
I am not sure if this is a good or bad figure. I suppose it’s low. The nurse said these reduce with age so I suppose as I’m 36 this is ok?
Well I’m hoping so. Blood test will tell more.
So now I have to wait and ring them for day 1 of my period. Then on day 21 I return to clinic for my medication to start. I’m excited but so nervous at the same time.
I daren’t feel too excited as I am dreading if all fails. Is this normal? Anyone else have the same feelings at this stage of the IVF procedure? Any thoughts will be great to hear. Thank you all x

Those feelings are exactly the ones we can all relate to. Welcome and well done. Personally I have never had any more than 3 follicles do anything so I would say you are off to a great start. Just remember though it only takes one egg.
Completely normal. Ivf gives us hope but at the same time it’s not a guaranteed success, far from it, but if it’s your best shot then allow yourself to be a little bit excited. Good luck xx
