I went for my scan today. My egg collection was planned for Monday, and I have been told that my follicles are too small. They have told me to carry on on the dose of meriofert im on (300iu) and they will look again on Monday. Should I be worried? She said there were 22 follicles. But none at the size they need to be? Has this happened to anyone? I would be grateful for any advice. Thanks xx

Hi Gem2410. Nothing to be worried about, this can happen. You'll just need to inject for longer. I injected for 16 days in this cycle before my follicles reached the right size and I was on a really high dose of Gonal F (375iu). Even in my last cycle i injected longer than expected. I think maybe because I have a low AMH? Not too sure......xx
When I had my egg collection, it was supposed to be on a Wednesday, I was scanned on the Monday and had 7 ready but there were 4 that could possible make it too. As I was only doing one cycle they wanted to get those 4 for me so they delayed my collection by a day. By the Thursday, 6 more which had been much smaller had grown!
Hi. Thank you for asking. So kind of you. It went well thank you. You were right, a few days really did make a difference 😊 I have 15 maybe more potential follicles. My egg collection is booked for Wednesday. How are you getting on? xx
Oh that’s such great news! Hope you’re feeling better about it now? ☺️
Ok thank you, waiting to be referred to gynaecology as I have fluid on my endometrium cavity 😏I need to have that sorted before doing a transfer. Really frustrating but would rather have things right xx
Yes. I’m so relieved everything seems to be okay now. 😊 Oh no sorry to hear that. But yes definitely, best to get everything sorted. I hope it all goes well for you.. xx
Might be helpful to know they expect follicles to grow 1-2mm per day, so that might help you estimate how long you might be stimming for in terms of extra days x Good luck
