Hello! Unfortunately, my first NHS cycle failed so I decided to check my other options and I came across the eggs sharing scheme. I would be very grateful if you could share some experience. I think I will be eligible as we need IVF due to a male factor, but I was wondering what is the waiting time to start, how long the process takes and etc. Thanks in advance!

Egg sharing
Hi cache_cache. I went through the egg sharing scheme earlier this year so happy to answer any questions. We initially contacted the clinic we went with last October; it then took a couple of months to go through initial screening, counselling etc. Then it took another couple of months to find a match, and then it took another 1-2 months to sync our cycles and start the IVF process (April), so 5-6 months all-in-all from calling the clinic to starting IVF.
I did egg sharing and it took about 3 months to do the screening tests, counselling and consent. They froze the eggs I donated straight away so we didn't need to wait for a recipient, so we could get on with our treatment straight away. Once someone wanted my eggs which was like 6 months after I had to do a blood test to release the eggs to them xxx
Do you know how much the recipients paid for the eggs (if it's not too sensitive a question)? If it's an inappropriate question please just ignore it.
No no idea, the price list is on the Manchester fertility website though xxxx
Thank you so much for your replies. I will get in touch with the clinic tomorrow and hopefully I will be able to arrange some consultation. Best of luck X X
