As you may have seen my third go at my first IVF cycle was cancelled this week once again due to lack of response. The nurse counted 49 follicles some got to 15mm my lining got to 8.3mm but then my body stopped responding and my lining got thinner and the follicles stopped growing. I was pretty devastated as you can imagine.
My case was discussed at the weekly senior nurse and doctor meeting on Friday. The nurse who scanned me on the day my cycle was cancelled rang me to let me know what had been decided so I didn’t have to wait for a letter. They are switching my protocol up to the maximum. This means I’ll be on a both menopur and Gonal F at maximum doses. Due to Christmas I’ll be starting in January.
As pleased as I am that we aren’t just trying the same medication over and over (this will be my third protocol since I started) I’m terrified of what will happen if this doesn’t work either. My other background concern is that this isn’t even the hard bit yet!! We haven’t any ideas how many eggs I have or the quality, my OH sperm was tested a year and a half ago and it was fine then but we have no idea of the embryo quality etc etc. Every step of this fertility journey I haven’t been able to get off the starting blocks;
-I don’t ovulate naturally
-6 months of letrozole never ovulated
-3 cycles of IVF never got to egg collection
Nearly three years in I’m starting to despair; I haven’t even ovulated 😞

Hi EmGLA. Perhaps you could have an AMH test done to check on your egg reserve, to give you some idea of success next time. A little while to wait, but I do wish you well. Diane
my AMH is 20 and AFC is 30. The problem is that these results would suggest I would respond well to the IVF medication, unfortunately it isn’t going that way 😞.
Hi EmGLA. I do have a list of questions I could email you in confidence if you would like to have a look at them. Most won't be appropriate, but there may be a few you can use. You will need to email me at support@fertilitynetworkuk.org if you want them. Diane
Hi there! How are you? I hope you are feeling better. It's a good thing you are opting again. Giving up is not an option in this treatment. Just make sure this time you listen to your doctors carefully. Don't do anything that may affect your treatment. Stay away from Alcohol and reduce coffee as much as you can. And if it still doesn't work, then change your clinic. This clinic is not the one for you. You need a better clinic than this to make it work. I hope you understand what i am trying to say. Good luck. Stay blessed. Take care. Bye!
Hi there! I hope you are doing better. It's a great thing that you are going for another cycle. You will be able to make it work this time, i am positive. The doctors are working hard for you this time. So i am sure if you put in some effort, you will get through it. Also if this doesn't work this time, you are never going to visit this clinic again. Change the clinic. If that doesn't work, then change the treatment. I hope this helps. Take care of yourself. Good luck. Stay blessed. Bye.
Hi hon! How are you? This is such an inspiring post. There are people who stop trying after some failed attempts. It's important for you to keep trying in order to make it work. This is not only for these treatments, but anything in life takes time and effort. If you are ready to commit to it and stay patient. Then things will work out for you sooner or later. It's a good thing that you have doctors full attention. I will pray that this round works out for you. Best of luck. Take good care of yourself. My blessings are with you. Goodbye!
Happy new year. I’m alright at the moment. I’ve just finished my norethisterone so now the wait for AF begins so I can get started with stims.
I don’t have my usual positive mind set going into the treatment. I’m just a bit neutral regarding it, I’m guessing I’m subconsciously trying to protect myself.
