My cycle was cancelled two weeks after starting down regulation on long protocol the day before I was meant to start the stims due to covid and I still haven’t received my period 5 weeks on! Any idea how long it may take to get my period back? Should I be concerned? This sucks so badly! X

Covid cancelled ivf cycle 2 weeks in & still no period
Sorry to hear your cycle was cancelled. It does take a while for the down regulation to come out of your body (as it puts you into a fake menopause) and let your cycle reset. There are no hard and fast rules as out bodies all deal with meds differently but no I dont think there is any need to be worried....it should come but if it doesnt appear in a few weeks speak to your clinic they can give you something to bring on a bleed if necessary.xx
Thanks so much for your reply. It was my third cycle and I have never had a delayed bleed so after 5 weeks waiting I have started to worry. It’s quite rare they cancel during downregs and my clinic said they don’t usually do log protocol so weren’t sure why it was so late and put it down to stress.
I didn’t know they can give me something to start the bleed that’s really helpful thanks x
Ive had a cancelled cycle when I was down regulated but I has been taking estradiol to thicken my lining. They gave me progesterone to give me a withdrawal bleed so a bit different to you. If you are 5 weeks since you last period then you are technically 1 week late.....I think my longest in between for me was around 43 days....my cycle went awol but did come eventually.xx
Hi Melrey. Can take up to 2 months to get back to what is normal for you. Your body needs to rid itself of all the fertility drugs, then all should be OK. Good luck! Diane
I also had my first IVF cycle cancelled on 18th March and still have had no period, so 5 weeks for me too. I was on stims and only a week away from egg collection so was really gutted, as many of us are.
I really hope your cycle kick starts again soon. I think I may ring my clinic tomorrow to see what advice they can offer as I have low AMH so worrying I might be starting menopause or something x
So sorry you've had such a rubbish time and that you had 2 weeks of injections before it was cancelled. I was also on down reg after a year of being on the NHS waiting list and needing an op and waiting for recovery I thought it was finally my time! So frustrating to be so close and know so many of us feel that time is slipping away.
My period came a week later than it would have normally but I was told by my clinic it can take a couple of months to regulate again.
Anyone else getting annoyed their fertility drugs in the fridge are a daily reminder?! Tempted to buy a mini fridge to keep them in that I can hide in the spare room 🙈
Oh totally it sucks having drugs in the fridge and I’m paranoid the fridge will break! My drugs expire in August also! X
