Sickness

After being incredibly lucky and getting a BFP a few weeks ago, I've had the most horrendous nausea and sickness for the last two weeks. I am most definitely not complaining about it as I know how lucky we are but I wondered if anyone had any experience with anti-nausea medication? I've got a doctors appointment later today so I know they may prescribe that, I just wondered if it works?

Although I had “morning” sickness it wasn’t severe so I can’t advise on any medication but I just want to say that I hope whatever you’re prescribed helps! Good luck xx

Thank you so much. Xx

I had severe sickness- up to 10 x a day! Usually they offer prochlorperazine (I think) as a first line but I ended up on cyclizine and ondansetron together and still vomited! It did allow me to leave the house though! Good luck I hope you get something that helps x

Hi lc. Hopefully you have seen your GP by now. He/she should be able to give you something to help. Good luck! Diane

Hi! I've had hyperemesis gravidum so not fun... I'm currently on cyclizine and ranitidine. I still vomit but it's definitely controlled the nausea so I can just about function on a day to day basis and get enough fluid in to avoid a hospital trip!

Hope yours eases / they give you something to help.

Definitely would recommend having small meals and snacks to keep you going, getting hungry makes it so much worse and eat what ever you like. Dont worry about all this healthy eating malarkey if it just makes you sick your baby will get the nutrients it needs from you regardless of what you eat. You'll find something that'll help, most people swear by ginger and lemon drinks, one sniff of that and I'm done for! Expect your likes of food to change daily too, currently all I want is peas when a few days ago I just wanted cake. Good luck and if it gets too much see if your GP can sign you off, no point struggling to cope.

Also congratulations!x
