Hi everyone. I've been for my injection training appointment and got my meds ready to go. Been told I need to wait for my period, then take the contraceptive pill to give my ovaries a rest before starting the injections. My period tracker suggested I would come on Thursday this week however here I am on Sunday and nothing! I'm freaking out. Will everything move back a month? I'm not sure what to do. I'm usually like clockwork so what's going on? 😩

Hi Zelda,
It's exciting that you're all set up now, ready to start your cycle! So sorry to read that your period is playing tricks on you now that you're wishing it here - that must be incredibly frustrating!!
I don't have any experience of IVF so far as we're awaiting our first appointment but I do have a LOT of experience of tracking my cycle for ttc purposes. I know it's h*llish that you're always usually regular and now you haven't been but from experience ovulation is delicate & being run down or stressed or travel can push ovulation day back a few days. It's quite possible the build up on the run up to your treatment starting has been a little stress to your cycle.
Hopefully your AF will come asap & let you get started🤞 xx
This seems to happen loads, just when you're all geared up to start a cycle. Check with your clinic tomorrow but I doubt there will be any problem at all xxx
Hello Zelda, I am normally like clockwork too but the buserelin injections made me 6 days late! It'll come, I understand how frustrating it is though. Good luck x
Oh my goodness!! This exact thing happened to me when I was waiting to start!! I’m sure stress can delay it. I was five days late that cycle. Hopefully AF will arrive today 🤞 xx
Happened with me
30 years of clockwork 28 day cycles
And that one blew out to 45 days... it’s crap and stressful
Exciting it is all starting for you soon I'm currently going through the same thing - although doing donor egg IVF so there are 2 people's periods to think about. My lovely donor came on 9 days early, and my period should have come 8 days ago! I am taking buserelin so the clinic said that can delay things. They also reassured me that periods always start misbehaving when you need them to behave, so not to worry! xx
