Hi all,so been quite run down,go did loads blood tests now I've been told I have low folate,so to take folic acid. Im already on iron tablets. My fertility nurse then said to just order folate direct off amazon.any advice greatly appreciated.

I was hoping to go for round 3 i jan

Hi May. That’s a nuisance, but who knows you may get your reserves back up to normal again by the New Year, so fingers crossed. If your clinic suggest buying folate online, then ok. Good luck! Diane

Folate is better than folic acid as in your body has to covert folic acid into folate to use where as if you take Folate your body can use it straight away. I have the MTHFR gene so I am unable to process folic acid so have to take the purer form of folate x

Methlyfolate is the best type of folate to take as it is the type that the body recognises and can be absorbed/used directly. Best of luck bringing up your levels, I also increased my intake of green veggies with every lunch and evening meal. So LOTS of spinach, broccoli, courgettes, kale and i had eggs every morning for breakfast when i was TTC and during my IVF x
