Been researching for so long my head is spinning. I ordered Solgar’s Folate at Metafolin. Anyone take folate instead of folic acid before conceiving and during pregnancy?

Do you guys take Folate or Folic Acid?
Hi
I was told by my consultant to take Folic acid, not sure what the differences are as I didn't research, just did what i was told xx
I’m taking folate 800mg.
Thank you, why 800 just out of interest? X
Folate is a natural form whereas folic acid is synthetic. My nutritionist told me that it is advisable to take at least 800mcg of folate as it isn’t as easily absorbable.
I think folate is recommended for ladies who don’t absorb folic acid well.
Folic acid should be sufficient for most ladies TTC/ pregnancy.
You could contact your fertility doctor & ask their opinion. xoxo
Hey I take 400µg of Folic Acid every day (as recommended by consultant). Hope this helps!
Oh that’s great thank you
I take folate recommended originally by my fertility nutritionist instead of folic acid.
Xxx
I take a mixed fertility vitamin which has folate in it. I was taking folic acid originally and it wasn't agreeing with my stomach at all. But it is all fine now!
Awesome! Which one do you take , can you share that with us?
I was also taking folic acid but advised to move onto folate as it's much easier for the body to absorb (not so much of the yellow pee! sorry tmi!)
I take the Wild Nutrition food grown fertility supplement. It is expensive but very good quality as Pregnacare sometimes made me a bit nauseous. x
I take pregnacare max which is folate under advice from my clinic as my tests showed I don’t absorb folic acid well.
