I have a follow up appointment this afternoon at our clinic following a missed miscarriage in Aug after FET (2nd IVF/ICSI cycle, 2nd transfer). I have no idea what to ask (other than why did the miscarriage happen which I know they won’t be able to answer). We have one embryo left and due to start next FET treatment in Dec. What should I ask at my appointment? Any advice welcome. Thanks x

Clinic follow up appointment after miscarriage
Im so sorry, I cant think what you should ask for at your clinic appt. It is likely they will tell you there was no reason for your sad loss as you said....there often is no reason that these cruel things happen. With it being the one miscarriage I suspect they wont offer much tests either. I hope all goes as well as it can do today, thinking of you!xx
I’m so sorry for your mc horrible thing to go through. Some ladies have had successful treatment when taking prednisone ( low dose steroid) & some have taken low dose aspirin which is supposed to help with blood flow & prevents blood from clotting. Might also be an idea to have a hysteroscopy & laparoscopy to have a detailed look inside your uterus & check/treat any endo or other abnormalities. Also check your thyroid make sure TSH is under 2. Some ladies also have their progesterone checked during treatment to ensure it’s at a good level to support a pregnancy.
It’s very difficult I was told I was just very unlucky to have a miscarriage & no reason to suspect I would be as unlucky the next time- I fell with my daughter just over a year since the miscarriage. In our case was “bad luck” but I did have my endo properly cleared out by endo specialist ( not left like 2 previous laps) I’m sure that helped I also took prednisone and progesterone pessaries till 12 weeks with Francesca which I really think kept her safe.
All the best with the appointment I hope it goes well xxx
Hi Imno. So sorry to hear of your unfortunate missed miscarriage, and I hope you had plenty of support. Maybe time to have a hysteroscopy, if not already done, just to check your womb out and take a biopsy of the lining to see if there is a problem. Discuss using low dose soluble aspirin or heparin to ensure a good blood flow to the womb lining and hopefully prevent any clotting. Hope all goes/has gone well this afternoon. Diane
