Miscarriage clinic appointment

Hi I've not been on here for a while. After 4 failed ivf & one fet I asked to be referred to the miscarriage clinic as I have unexplained fertility. I have been doing some research..because of this forum & looking into APS/ Huges syndrome. On my appointment my blood test for sticky blood was "slightly high" (15) so had to have this test repeated as they only start treatment if it's at 20. Next appointment in 3 months but I'm going to try to get in sooner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hi, hope you get answers but be patient because to be diagnosed properly with Hughes the two blood tests have to be a few months apart. Additionally one of these tests takes 2-3 months to process so this might explain the 3 month wait. They need to see 2 consecutive high results, spaced apart and unfortunately it's not a quick test.

If it's a little high, it may be no harm flagging it up on your next round anyway and they might put you on aspirin and heparin as a precaution. The thing is, you normally have to wait for a positive pregnancy test to start taking these. If you do IVF I think you can take it a number of days after et, it might be 10 days after. Do you mind me asking at what stage the IVF failed - did you get your bfp only for it to fail later?

I was diagnosed with aps after recurrent mc on natural pregnancies and now seem to be progressing well on an IVF pregnancy. I'm on aspirin and heparin and this is the furthest I've got, at 15 weeks so I'm very hopeful. For me, aps wasn't the only factor though - thyroid and low amh too. Thyroid often goes with aps, so make sure that's tested too. PM me if you would like to ask anything. x

Hi thanks for your reply & glad things are going well for you. I have got to the test day to get a negative result... Although that time I thought I was pregnant because of symptoms I was having. I've had the first blood test in October & the second one this week.. But the blood team said my results would be back this week.... I have an appointment with my counsellor soon so I may ask her for some advice also.. It has been a long road and would just like some answers if possible before I start to look at adoption. X

Hi, in case of failed ivf/mcs i know some docs recommend doing preimplantation PGS NGS. I think you will find more info in the Internet x
