Ubiquinol

So, ive switched from co q10 to pure ubiquinol, we have our first ivf appointment on the 27th after a 2 and a half year rollercoaster trying for our second and nothing. I just turned 40 so we are going for ivf now cuz dont have anymore time to waste! I just wondered what you all would recommend for egg quality. I already take loads of suppliments for endometriosis but want the best shot at this as we can only really afford 2 goes, and thats if we have enough to freeze for a second go 😬

Was really happy how my ET and fertilisation went and put it down to egg quality. I was on Coq10 ubiqinol. I started taking royal jelly near the end. Tried maca but didnt agree with me. I was told to also take selenium and zinc which I took religiously. My doctor prescribed me Dhea which I think really helped but only because my testosterone was low so you should question about yours. And finally, I enjoyed castor oil packs. Think they were more helpful for lining but really think it helped. Also think they helped in follicle growth. I'm now 6 weeks pregnant. Now, I couldn't tell you what the quality was like before I started the regime (could've been good all along) but I'm convinced the supplements helped. Also, keep in mind, it's not an overnight change in quality. They say its 3 months to get to that egg that has been improved. Hope this helps. Best of luck xx

Thankyou for replying, and congratulations! It sounds like im on the right track then, ive been on q10 for months already and just turned 40 so changed to ubiquinol instead of ubiquinole. I tried royal jelly, gives me wierd dreams! When you say you tried it at the end, when do you mean you started it? I take maca every day and have done the last 5 years, it takes a while for your body to settle on it. Selenium and zinc i dont take so i will add that asap. Im also starting accupuncture this week so im giving it all ive got lol. Xx

Oh I should have added that I started reflexology and acupuncture. When I say the end, I meant probably 1 month before egg retrieval, not 3 months in advance. So not sure how useful it was. Definitely think you're on the right track there, hope it all goes your way x

Thankyou jenben, yes it seems im on the right track 👍. I think ill leave the royal jelly then, the dreams i get on it are awful so im quite glad its not one of the essential ones to take x

Hi Purplewitch. Best of luck with this, but check your vitamins etc out with your specialist, so you don’t go overboard with them. Diane

Thanks diane, ive already spoken to my specialist about taking something for egg quality, the rest i take are for my endo. Fertillity clinic also recommended accupuncture, i just didnt have the funds for it earlier. I just wantee to check which was the best suppliment as they arent cheap. I was on proxeed which i was advised to by the dr, but it didnt agree with me.

Hi. Perhaps stick with the ubiquinol? I agree acupuncture can help with blood supply to lining and ovaries. Hope it helps. Diane

Thanks Dianne, im really looking forward to acupunture as even if i dont get pregnant it will really help with all the illness and suffering every month with my cycle. I had it years ago for a chronic infection and it was really good.

Good luck with the ivf purple witch. I tried DHEA (just bought myself, wasn’t prescribed by doc) and also coq10. I also tried the castor oil packs on my third and successful transfer...and didn’t do acupuncture (which I had for the previous two rounds!! 🤷‍♀️). Currently feeding my 10 week old daughter...so something must have worked despite really high FSH (55!!) and low AMH. Just wish I knew what! All the best and god decision I reckon to just get going with the ivf. It’s scary to think about it but hopefully it’ll help your family to grow. Xx

Thankyou Mannjj, aww congrats on your little girl ❤️, i absolutely love having a daughter its amazing, i have a little mini me, she is 4 now. Yes, castor oil packs, i did them for a while but kind of gave up because i stopped trying naturally, but they did help with endo pain so i will get back onto it, and just finished my period so its perfect timing. Where did you buy your dhea? Just incase the unbuquinol doesnt agree with me, and i need to use something else. I have low amh too, though i was scanned at the wrong time in my cycle so not totally accurate, i will get a better idea at the clinic we have chosen to go private at. The other was an nhs referral and it was whenever the appointment came through nevermind where i was in my cycle. So nice to have support on here with people going through the same thing xx

My clinic recommended coq10, omega 3 and inofolic. Off my own back I'm also taking high strength vits c and d, dhea, melatonin, folic acid and a multi vit x
