I’m a 34 yo currently undergoing my 5th round of IVF.
We’ve got 4 PGS tested embryos on ice, and I’ve had one unsuccessful transfer of a 3 day embryo on my first round and subsequently changed our approach to an embryo banking one after a sudden change in my AMH (at last test it was 3.4).
For all rounds expect the first one I’ve been 300 IU of Menopur and have had varying levels of success but over 3 rounds gained 6 blastocysts (all AA graded with one BC) and four of them were genetically normal.
Following this I wanted to do one more round as I was feeling confident after our positive PGS results.
I got 7 eggs (median number of my rounds) and my partner has always had excellent sperm (1/4 normal sperm). I was particularly confident as my estrogen levels were really high and that’s often a sign of egg quality. All looked good on retrieval, eggs injected very normally via IMSI (done for all our other rounds bar one) and my nurse called me this morning to say she had ‘some pretty devastating news’.
I’ve got a follow up meeting with my doctor tomorrow morning, and have a couple of questions;
-has anyone else had this happen to them after previous rounds of fertilisation? We have had one round with a previous low fert rate of 30%, though this resulted in a AA, normal blast.
-if it has happened to you before, did it happen again?
-any suggested questions/suggestions for my doctor?
All replies and suggestions will be appreciated!
