Is it possible for a hydrosalpinx to become unblocked by itself

Over the last two weeks I've been having a lot of pain in one if my blocked fallopian tubes, I'm currently waiting for surgery to have both of them removed, anyway, I've been trying to get in touch with my surgeon with no luck, while waiting in pain over the last few days, I had a moment where the pain became so bad I could not put any pressure on my stomach at all, this lasted about 20 - 30 seconds then went and I have had little to no pain at all since, I'm wondering if it has flushed itself through, does this sound at all possible? In the mean time I've spoken to the secretary of the surgeon and am waiting for a call.

I’m sorry to hear you are a fellow hydrosalpinx sufferer. I had mine removed about a month ago. I got alot of discomfort too and unfortunately had to nag and nag my GP to write to the surgeon and push me forward in the list.

Life has been great since, such a relief! I don’t think they can unblock themselves unfortunately but you never know. Keep pushing for that op I say!!

I had a voicemail today calling me in for an apt to chat about what's been going on but sadly I can't have them removed until December as I have to wait at least 6 weeks after a long haul flight, but I really want them out now, good luck for the next part of your journey x

I was diagnosed with having a hydrosalpinx in my left tube which was re-confirmed on 4 separate occasions but later went on to have an ectopic pregnancy in my right tube. Prior to surgery I was informed they would remove both tubes. However once in surgery they said there was no visible hydrosalpinx hence they only removed the right tube. Hope that gives you some hope!

That is interesting, I am blocked in both tubes after having surgery to open them up, when being retested it seems the scar tissue has blocked them up again but after the experience I've had this last week I just wondered if it is possible, it seems it might be. I have an apt next week to have a chat wit the surgeon, thank you x

I'm not sure. All I know is that I was diagnosed with this then a few years later during a laparoscopy it was noted that my tubes were not blocked...

The initial diagnosis could have been an error or it could have cleared itself.

Good luck, whatever the outcome xx
