Who's done an ERA? Was it painful? When in your cycle is it done? Help get you a bfp?

I've just had a failed FET of a hatching pgs normal 5 day blastocyst.

Now I need to get an ERA. I'm nervous because I think it sounds painful.

Can you please tell me what the process involves. Is it painful, over quickly? When in your cycle does it have to be done? How long do the results take to come back? Did you get a bfp? Xx

You’re not out yet, it’s only day 6. There might not be enough pregnancy hormone to pick up on a test yet.

I know it’s hard, and it’s probably easiest to think the worst but just remember that your result on test day might be different.

Try and stop testing now, keep yourself busy and distracted as best as you can.

It’s not over until it’s over xx

I'll be going into get my progesterone tested tomorrow as it was already booked for a week after transfer so I'll beg her to test my hcg too so I can come off the Lubion and cyclogest. It should definitely be in my blood by then. Just preparing myself mentally for what I can already feel in my gut 😔

I can’t remember when in the cycle the era has to be done - the clinic will tell you. It’s a bit like a smear test. For me it hardly hurt. My clinic only gave me an ibuprofen and an antibiotic before the procedure, which lasts minutes.

It was done in my doctor’s normal room, not in an operating theatre. In my opinion you don’t need sedation. Afterwards you may have another bleed.

The era, which tries to work out the time when your endometrium is most receptive for the transfer, seems to help a lot of women. I had 3 though! I am pregnant now, though, on my third transfer.

The results take about 2 weeks, I think. The procedure is nothing to worry about.

Thanks so much for the info. I'm glad it seems like a simple procedure and I really think it'll be helpful as I think my timing was off...We will see though because I think I'll be devastated if the era does not give me a different window. Then what! I'll creeps that bridge if I get to it! Congratulations on your bfp gives me hope xx

I’m so sorry that it wasn’t better news today....but didn’t you have your transfer the day after me. If so 6 days seems a bit early, so don’t count yourself out yet. I hope the results change over the next few days if you are only day 6 xx

Hey yes I transferred on August 20th so I'm 6dp5dt but it was a hatching blast so I should have hcg by now as it would have implanted early. Plus I don't have any of my usual pregnancy symptoms, in fact no symptoms. I just know. Did you get your bfp or holding out till Friday?

I’m OTD Thursday so I’m just holding out for a few more days as I truly think that it’s too early to test. I know it’ll just stress me if I test early and I’ll let the blood test be the definitive answer.

Mine was a 5 day too so I’m trying to stay positive.

Hopefully you can get a blood test tomorrow to see how everything is looking xx
