Asked my clinic for a hsg test. Pricey but puts my mind at rest. They're going to let me know if they can refer me.
Nothing wrong with me and I know this deep down but can't help wondering if that's why I've never had children. Pricey but worth it to put my mind at rest.
My clinic dont seem to understand that if my 3 cycles run out and I'm still not preggers despite ICSI, and as my OH motility improves after VR it'd be pointless trying naturally if there is actually something wrong with me. I could never afford another 3 cycle package.
Anyone ever had this test?
Any advice?
Ive heard stories of women having this test and then catching naturally.

Hi Jessy, I had a HSG and it showed a slight swelling in my right Fallopian tube. Although they weren’t convinced what it was. We went ahead with ivf and froze our blasts - and at our consultation last week we were told that during the egg collection they saw that the tube was definitely swollen and likely leaking slightly toxic fluid in to my uterus. This might have been the reason we haven’t been falling pregnant or miscarring. So I will have that tube clipped before I have any embryos transferred in - they are convinced that this will give us our best hope.
So I would say go ahead and do it, if they do find something then it may give you some answers.
It’s not the loveliest procedure but after all we go through it’s a drop in the ocean.
Hi jessy this is the test where they put dye in your tubes is it ? To check they aren’t blocked ? This was done prior to starting icsi with me - you should have had this done I would have thought ? I had it done on the nhs ? Could you not get it done on the nhs rather than paying ? I have heard ladies getting pregnant after this test as it clears your tubes out so to speak x x
Thanks all. I've heard the same about ladies falling pregnant. As I'm keen to get going I'm going to pay privately. The clinic think I'm not falling pregnant purely due to sperm motility but I'm not convinced. So far blood tests and ultrasounds have shown nothing wrong with me even after egg collection and transfer. Thanks for the input all x
