For those that saw my last post we’ve decided to now go down the path of IVF (eeek). We never thought we’d get here and I am trying to get my head around it.
I’ve just turned 41 a month ago, have high AMH (I scored 56 when tested at 39). We have no sperm or other issues (although are just going to run a range of tests to double check). My Dr is fairly positive that we can get a decent number of eggs but I want to be realistic.
Who else has been a similar situation? What was your experience (good or bad)?

I started IVF when I was 41 and a half! My AMH is 'good' for my age but I can't remember what.
First round I had 10 follicles but they couldn't get to my left ovary so only 3 collected, 2 fertilised, day 2 transfer BFN
Second round I had 17 follicles, 13 eggs collected, 7 fertilised, 3 made it to day 5, all three transferred, BFP sadly MC at 9 weeks but since found issues with sticky blood, lupus anticoagulant and a heart shaped womb. Had surgery to correct.
Third round 10 eggs collected but earlier than normal so not very mature, only 3 fertilised, day 3 transfer BFN
My key takeaways have been age doesn't really necessarily reflect success rates and it only takes one embryo. I am consistently told that 41 (I am now 42) isn't old anymore for motherhood and pregnancy, and there is a 1 in 4 chance that you will get your BFP at this age which is still good odds and much higher than trying naturally (1 in 25). Masses of luck! xx
