Hi - I was just after a bit of advice or positive stories if anyone has been in this situation. This is my second IVF round I’m 41. Had 2 eggs transferred nothing in freezer but had a BFP on 23rd June. I went for my 7 week scan yesterday and it wasn’t great. The pregnancy sac was very clear but the nurse couldn’t get a clear pic or heartbeat of the embryo. Personally I couldn’t see anything but she said she could see something but it was like stuck to the side. She called the consultant and he tried and agreed there was something there but not clear. They measured what they could see and told me it was only measuring 6 weeks 1 day. I’m supposed to be 7 weeks 4 days. I know they allow 5 days either side but this is more. I’m going back next week for a repeat scan. Has anyone else had a similar situation with a positive end result? I can see the positives but can’t help but focus on the negatives right now. I’m wondering whether the embryo just implanted later than they thought as I had a 3 day transfer and it is just taking its time!
7 week scan concerns : Hi - I was just... - Fertility Network UK
7 week scan concerns
I don’t have any advice to offer but I just want to wish you luck at your next scan xx
This must be very worrying for you and I know it’s going to be a very long week for you until that scan comes back around! I have no advice I’m afraid, my 7 week scan is a week today! But I just wanted to say I hope that the next scan brings some very good news! I hope that baby gets bigger and reveals itself x
Thank you. I hope all went well with your scan x
How are you doing?? X
Although my story isnt totally positive it might help in a way i had 2 embryos transferred both took but one was two weeks behind then went to a week behind and both times i got warned the smaller one wasnt likely to make it unfortunately i did loose the smaller one a couple of weeks later but what I'm trying to say is unless they say directly they don't think there is much hope then still keep the faith if they haven't said that to you there is still hope and before i lost my other one i did read lots of story's where they can be behind and suddenly catch up, maybe the position is causing them to struggle to measure as my surviving twin didn't measure perfect the first time as like yours it was stuck to the side of the sac so they struggled to measure so don't loose hope yet x
Best wishes for next scan. Really hope it ok for u. So hard times like this xx
