I have been of the pill 4 years after being on it approx 10 years... I’ve only just started experiencing ovulation pain, stretchy clear CM within last 9 months or so x

Struggle ttc after long term pill use?

I was on cerazette before we started ttc and it took almost 2 years to start ovulating again, and that was only after 9 months of clomid to stimulate ovulation. x
I was on the pill from 16 until 31. The last pill I was on was Yasmin. When I stopped, I got really bad acne which took about 6 months to clear up. It took me 13 months to conceive. I think some people’s bodies take longer to adjust than others. I think it takes mine a long time for my hormones to adjust from anything.
thanks for the reply, I also suffered quite bad acne from coming off the pill, it seems to have sorted itself out now but sometime I do get quite oily and spotty. ive been off the pill almost 4 years now and no sign of pregnancy, dr cant find anything wrong I just don't know which way to go to be honest.
I think it’s difficult to say. I’ve been on the pill for almost 8 years, used other methods for 1 year and got pregnant (ectopic) after 1/2 year of ttc.
I was younger (but over 30) and not so concerned about fertility issues, so never checked ovulation until 2-3 year ago (at home), after the ectopic, when I got concerned as I had only 1 ovary left.
So it’s difficult to say if before the pills I was ovulating right, if anything changed during the pill period or after.
I have no confirmed infertility diagnosis, but one of the doctors said my tube was long and might not be close enough to the ovary.
I have always heard that after you get off of the pill you have a higher chance of conceiving --indeed, if I remember correctly, it was devised to treat people with infertility issues, rather than prevent pregnancies. I have a couple of friends who have been on it for more than 15 years, and got pregnant within 3 months of quitting it. On the other hand, I appreciate that everyone is different!
Hi there,
I don't think that asking this question on this forum will do anything but confirming your bias: this forum is for people struggling to conceive, so of course most answers will describe their experiences.
I've never heard that taking the pill can affect your future fertility, and this kind of questions needs proper science to be answered to. Asking on this forum is the wrong thing to do.
Besides, it'll only lead to blame yourself for being on a pill for long time. Leave these thoughts in the past, look at the future, and good luck! 🍀🍀🍀
