8dp5dt - first BFP after 13 years TTC!

Hi,

I caved and tested early today 8dp5dt of a frozen blast. I did a first response and got a line but then did a digital to double check and it definitely looks like a BFP 🤞🏻

My OTD isn’t until Tuesday when I go for a blood test so 4 more days to wait. I can’t actually believe it but I’m trying to stop myself getting too excited because I know a lot of things can still go wrong but I’ve been TTC for 13 years!!!

I’ve had 4 full cycles of IVF, first 2 resulted in no fertilization, 3rd I had 2 blasts which were transferred and BFN, then on the 4th I had 7 top quality blasts, 1 was transferred - BFN, and 6 frozen. It’s the first of these frozen ones that I’ve had this time.

I always read other posts on this board looking for hope and learning from other peoples experiences so felt like I wanted to share this today, especially as I’m holding back telling other people yet! Good luck to you all wherever you are in your journey X

We made changes in each cycle, the main change last time was moving to donor sperm. In both previous transfers I got my period on day 7/8 after transfer. I’d been using pessaries so asked for lubion injections this time instead.

Congrates Linzb. How old are you and did you use any supplements?

Hi, I’m 38. I did try supplements a few years ago, I also tried acupuncture for my 2nd one, but didn’t do anything additional for the last couple of cycles. We’ve made changes each time though, the first 2 rounds they only retrieved 2-3 eggs and the clinic wasn’t going to make any changes, so I changed clinics where they use a different stimulation drug. A few years had also passed but in the 3rd and 4th rounds I had 21-28 eggs retrieved! The main difference in the 4th round was changing to donor sperm. And for this frozen cycle I moved from pessaries to injections for the progesterone because previously I’ve got my period 7-8 days after transfer so hoped this would help.

Thank you everyone for your lovely words. Just wanted to update you as today was OTD and my HCG levels were 757 which I think is good! I’ve been worried since the positive test because I’ve been spotting for about 6 days but hopefully that will settle down so I can relax and enjoy this. Good luck to everyone else on your journeys x
