All throughout stims and now after egg collection in the recovery period, all I can eat is carbs 😮. I’m well aware of what a good diet looks and feels like and the benefits of protein so I’m not looking for diet advice! Normally I have a very good diet. More just to vent at the ever increasing weight I seem to be putting on (no wonder). Also I had to take a massive back step with regards to exercise during stims for obvious, sensible reasons and now after egg collection I can barely move so exercise is very limited! Has anyone else had big carb cravings? If so, please can you tell me when they go away??? I don’t remember this last round!
IVF seems to be the gift that keeps on giving and I have a wedding to go to in 2 weeks so no idea what I’m going to wear 🥴.

Are you taking progesterone? I remember in the run up to FET the progesterone left me absolutely ravenous (and kind of homicidally short tempered). I imagine you're not craving healthier wholegrain carbs either are you?!?! My body seemed to get used to it after the first week and it settled down, so hopefully yours will die down in a little while. Good luck xxx
Oh that’s heartening to hear that yours settled down, thank you!! No I’m not craving whole grain carbs you’re right. Today I bought a long white baguette! Normally we don’t even have bread in the house! No not doing FET as yet as we’re doing PGS. The hormones I’m pumping myself with are making me very emotional too though!! Xx
I had carb overload and cravings from stims through to BFP and a bit beyond! I think it’s us craving comfort at a difficult time, don’t beat yourself up xxx
I've been craving savoury and carb since BFP in March (though I didn't have any treatment), I think it's natural your body wants energy any way it can when it has to work harder for any reason. Obviously hormone imbalances upset things.
I know you said no diet advice - but my suggestion would be that if you want to stop carb-loading the easiest way (imo) is to slowly taper it off - every day you have less carbs, you'll want less carbs the following day.
OTOH I am not a great example of this will-power!
I hope you find something lovely to wear for the wedding, and remember that you are doing something physically and emotionally draining so *** what anyone else thinks - be happy and comfortable.
Yes my hormones are waaaay out of whack! To be honest, I just weighed myself (I’m not a slave to a set of scales) and this has given me a wake up call. No more white baguette for me!! I will find the will power. Thanks for the advice xx
I literally ate like nobodies business after egg collection I was so hungry constantly. I was good after transfer but before that it was like food overload. I am so bloated from injections and I have put 10lb on just from these ! Xx
It’s so awful isn’t it! I have calmed down a bit today. Just can’t wait to be a bit more mobile so I can start exercising again. Currently I’m not even working it off!!xx
I have definitely put on weight during this process and not because it’s worked yet. It’s so annoying! Am not sure what is hormonal food craving and what is comfort...anyhow you’re not on your own! Am trying to find some balance now between cycles...
