IUI unsuccessful

Hei All

I just had my first unsuccessful iui . And i don't know if i should do iui again or move to IVF for my second attend .

Please anyone advice.

Sorry to hear it was not successful, what has your consultant said? I think to be honest it will depend on whether it is NHS funded or you are self funding. I had 3 cycles of IUI before moving onto IVF, this is what my clinic wanted to try which was funded by the NHS therefore I followed what they advised me. x

I would ask your consultant what they think your personal odds are at conceiving with each. I wish I’d asked this when I agreed to put my IVF back for 12 months to try clomid. After it failed the dr casually mentioned that we’d had less than a 10% chance of it working. I’d definitely have gone straight for IVF had I known in advance x

I’m so sorry it didn’t work. We were advised to think of it as a course of treatment with 4 cycles being roughly as successful as one of ivf. We were ready to give up after our 3rd iui plus two cancelled cycles then got a bfp! Unfortunately I lost it at 6 weeks and our last iui didn’t work so we are onto ivf now. It’s impossible to tell if it will work but it can work. It just depends if you can be bothered with all the faff for such a small chance of success - and I still don’t know the answer!

This process is very hard so many unsuccessful iui pls cancelled it really hurt but im glad you didn't give up . And im sorry for your loss , I wsh you all the best with IVF and i hope it will work this time .
