IuI under sedation

So ladies I know my circumstances for my iui are different to other ladies on here but I’m due to have it tomorrow and I’m having it under sedation .Now I never asked will I actually be out as in asleep for the procedure or does sedation mean I will be aware of what’s going on and just won’t feel anything that’s going on .Please help any info be great I’m excited but just want it over and done with then into the dreaded tww 🤞🤞

Hi Noah

I had sedation for my Egg Collection during this round of IVF after having had General Anaesthetic in previous rounds and it felt identical to me! I know yours is a different procedure but I don’t remember a thing from being under sedation. I felt a tingle in my arm as the drug went in then woke up in recovery.

I had sedation for my egg retrieval and I remember absolutely none of it. I thought I was knocked out until my husband told me later I was fully awake throughout the whole thing and chewing the consultants ear off the whole time until I started being sick (blame the OHSS for that!) but as far as I was concerned I slept for 3 hours!

I felt no pain, remember none of it and would have absolutely no issues having sedation again. Try not to worry, if you feel anything during they can always give you more sedation. Good luck!

I had “light sedation” for my egg collection but honestly I woke up in recovery asking when they were gonna start lol. It was amazing though as I felt no pain and walked away an hour later fully alert. Hope your transfer goes smooth ❤️

All went well ladies and thank you all so much from the bottom of my heart after all my tears and fears we sailed through it I know none of you personally but feel like I’ve become part of a long lost family and I for one wish each and everyone of you great success with all your stories.My official test day is July 16 th so for me it’s on with life as normal and try to put test day locked up in my heart till hopefully it’s a bout to burst with a positive outcome .Again thank you all ladies I will be sure to to update you all real soon much love Rachel ! 💙💕🥰
