Nope you won't, you'll be asleep and won't feel a thing. You'll wake up when it's over. It's not as bad as I imagined it to be x

Sedation puts me completely to sleep, out cold don’t remember a thing. But the recovery is a bit faster than a general anaesthetic.

The sedation also knocked me out completely within seconds and I woke up back in the recovery room. You don't feel anything and can usually go home within an hour of coming round.

When is your egg retrieval? X

I woke up in the middle of procedure 🤣🤣 I couldn’t feel anything but I remember asking how many eggs I have and they told me 5 so far (collected 16 eggs in total). Don’t worry about anything, I actually find sedation very funny. On my last egg collection when I was on recovery area I asked my husband to kiss me and I had the mask 😷 on, plus I asked him to take a picture of me but I cannot remember a thing. He even recorded me because I was only talking nonsense 😂

Enjoy the only funny bit 😆

I also fell flat out asleep and dont remember a thing! Ironically though i found the sedation more difficult to recover from than the general anaesthetic! I seem to have always bounced back from anaesthetics but the sedation seemed to knock me out with exhaustion for days xx

Nothing hunny. The nurses are so lovely. You wont notice how you went to sleep and when u wake up you will beso reieved you reached the milestone. Doesnt matter the result YOU gave a 100% you could. X

I was awake through it and other than feeling a bit of prodding it was great, 1000 times easier than I anticipated.

I was really high and non stop chatting and giggling all the way through. I actually asked them if I could go back the next week as I loved the drugs that much!🙈😂😂

I was awake throughout it was only mild sedation! I can also remember every detail lol... so the above responses are lucky 😂.

Best advice is try not to think about it to much, take your mind of it and by the time your in their it’s done and dusted!

Wishing you luck x

thanks hun.

Hi Naz!

I've had two egg retrievals now. First time I was very aware of what was going on and had quite a bit of discomfort while they were collecting the eggs. That said, they did up my pain meds part way through to help with this. They did say that it's highly unusual for this to happen though.

Second time around I was told by my consultant to let the nurses know what I'd been through the first time so they upped the sedation and the pain meds and I literally don't remember a thing apart from right at the end I woke up and they said 'you're all done!'.

Best of luck with yours. Hope your golden egg is in there!xx

It only takes 10 mins or so, I'm sure it'll be all done and dusted before you know it. Plus the nurses will look after you im sure. Best of luck xx

Mine was 5th August. We got 10 eggs, 9 of which were mature. 4 fertilised and had 1 transferred and 1 went in the freezer.

I was sedated and was awake and knew what was happening. I was quite woozy and it didn’t hurt. I could hear them shouting out follicle numbers and egg numbers to each other and my duct or showed me my ovaries on the ultrasound. I hope you get on well xx
