I’m due to start my first round of IVF in the next week, my baseline scan to start stims was provisionally this week. I’m on the amenorrhoreic short protocol so I was due to start taking norethisterone to stimulate a bleed now. However 2 weeks ago I got told not to take the tablets as my bloods showed high LH and the doctor thought I would actually have a period on my own. The problem is I was leaving for 2 weeks holiday the day after so I couldn’t have any more bloods taken. The nurse told me my period was predicted to arrive around the 25th of June and as I was on holiday this would ‘be a ‘disaster and delay treatment being started’. Que major anxiety attack from me! It’s now the 29th I’m travelling home today and no sign of AF but I also can’t take the drugs to bring on my period either!!
I have now no idea what I’m doing?? If AF does come now I’m home can I start treatment or because I’m on the amenorrhoeic protocol do they have to stimulate a bleed?? Also I had a semi-argument with the nurse as I have PCOS and therefore my LH is always raised isn’t it??? I’m so confused 🤷🏻♀️. Has anyone been in a similar situation or have any advice?? Xx

I’m going to call them first thing this morning. Thank you for replying I thing i was catastrophising the whole scenario which should hopefully be resolved easily.
Hi Emma, try not to worry too much. I was on this protocol too, the norethisterone didn’t work for me and so I may as well just have not taken it.
After more than a week they got me in for a scan to see if my period was imminent and took a blood test which confirmed it was. It arrived the next day and then I stared the injections that day.
Give your clinic a call and ask what they want you to do, they see this all the time I think. Hope you get some reassurance tomorrow x
