Reassurance needed? Really bad cough and sore throat during 2WW after FET

Hi all, looking for some positive stories for reassurance. I had FET on Monday in Spain (10th June). On way over on flight I think picked up the lergy so by the transfer day I was feeling yukky but as week has progressed in Spain sore throat, mucus cough has got worse. We flew home today and think I need a GP appointment tomorrow BUT needing support about possibility of success! This is our overall 4th IVF cycle and 3rd with Donor eggs. The last cycle was over a year ago because I've had a thyroid issue that was a challenge to get sorted before another cycle. We were feeling so positive about this one and really in a good place for it but I've just felt lousy since the transfer day. Beta test is on Thur this week and trying to stay positive πŸ™„

Hi. I also caught a cold at the time of my fresh transfer. For a few days I was worried, as I had a bit of fever, coughed, sneezed, blew my nose, etc., but I read the immune system is lower, to let implantation work. I got a BFP and am now 20 weeks pregnant. πŸ™‚

Good luck! xx

Thank you for responding 😊

Just back from GP and thinks it's viral but good news is temperature normal and no inflammation in ear canals. Little bit of swollen glands as body trying to fight it! I was just concerned as felt as though I was coughing my lungs up!! And haven't slept properly for about 4 days so I'm pooped. Hoping they are 2 tough little cookies that are in there.

Congrats on yours it is so comforting to hear positive stories as it's such an anxious time. Good luck with rest of your pregnancy 😊 x

Hi Meditationconvert. So sorry to hear you have been so poorly. All I can suggest is regular paracetamol and perhaps some hot lemon and honey to sip at. Plenty of fluids too, if you can. Get well soon and I shall be thinking of you. Diane

Thank you 😊 yes I'm definitely doing the hydration, fruit and veg and honey, lemon & ginger hot drinks.

You might be fine. I ended up with a burst follicle and throwing up 8 times in 4 hours and on morphine 3 days after transfer. So, as you can imagine I thought no chance. Am now 11 weeks pregnant and longing for my 12 week scan. Stay calm and everything crossed for you

Thanks 😁, the challenge is staying positive but I've been really focused and positive from the start of this cycle so I'm sticking with the PUPO view. It's just horrible feeling ill when I want to feel rested and healthy πŸ™„

Beta test on Thur so not long to wait. Good luck and best wishes for the rest of your pregnancy 😊
