Exercises after transfer day and during 2WW?

Goldenfeather123 profile image

Hi lovely ladies,

I understand moderate exercises such as jogging, swimming, and cycling are generally suitable for the 2WW time.

But how about in the first 3-5 days after a transfer? Has anyone done low impact dancing (no jumping at all and no sudden bending or twisting)? This is what my daughter intends to do. At one moment, I think this may be good for her blood supply to the uterus; but at another, I feel nervous. (Forgot what I did ~40 years ago.🤭)

What was the maximum you did in your successful round? Any thought and advice?

As long as the exercise is not too strenuous it should be ok But might be an idea for her to call her clinic for advice/ reassurance

Take care

I work out all year long, except when transferring and during the first trimester. I have three kids. For me, it is an absolute no go and it is playing with the fire. The clinic I use for transfers (3 positive transfers out of 5) is very strict as to the fact that absolutely no other exercise than walking during the 2WW. At the same time, why taking such risk during this time specifically? Sorry for being very direct.

I went to a wedding and danced all night the day after my last transfer, then went to Lanzarote the next day (with my entire family including my crazy 3 year old) and was swimming in the pool every day and joined in with the pool aerobics and carry on they have on holiday with dancing etc. Of course did lots and lots of walking as well. Currently 34 weeks pregnant after that one 🤞🏽 I wouldn’t do the bike personally just cos of the pressure from the seat but that’s not medical advice even anyway just the protection feeling I feel ‘down there’ if that makes sense but light exercise is good for getting blood circulation to the uterus etc and releasing some nice endorphins 🤗 xx

Thank you! Really happy for your positive outcome!

It seems you and Sarah770 having done the two extremes. I guess the key is good quality embryos. I have forwards both of your advice to my daughter.

Yeah I defo wasn’t ’working out’ but sitting doing nothing didn’t help me either so I got on with my life :-)

I am a big believer of it’s gonna stick it’s gonna stick mo matter what we do so may as well have a nice relaxing g time 🤗💜 xx
