So very excited but also apprehensive, currently undergoing our first ever IVF cycle and have done very little research as I know everyone and their journey is so different I didn’t want to get caught up and worry about things I didn’t understand!
We have had a short / antagonist protocol which lasted only two weeks as far as stims and trigger were concerned. I had egg collection yesterday and they got 13 eggs from I think 18 follicles. We just got the call to say 12 of them have naturally fertilised overnight using standard IVF which I think is great, but I also have no idea 🤣 all in all I just wondered if anyone else is at this stage and how you are getting on 😘

Hi Clairey-fairy! I’m preparing for egg collection tomorrow 🥴 this is my second cycle as I only had 7 eggs retrieved on the first cycle - 4 where too immature and 3 just didn’t fertilise. I’ve got around 17 follicles now after 11 days of stimulation and had a double trigger shot last night so I’m 🙏 we get some to fertilise!
That is a great number of eggs and fertilisation rate! Keep us posted on how your little embryos develop 🤞🤞😘😘
That sounds amazing. A shame you had to go through a whole extra cycle but now they’ve fine tuned your meds I’m sure that it’ll be more fruitful 😘. Hope it all goes well tomorrow x
Hello there! I have no idea but sounds good! Keeping lots of fingers crossed for you. I’m about to embark on my first IVF cycle starting with my next period xx
Update: Day 2 we still have 11 eggs, 7 are grade 1 and a few others are grade 2 and 3. We had one which over fertilised so has to be discounted but so far I think we have a few good contenders. I have a provisional transfer for 11am tomorrow but hopefully if they progress well then we will carry on to day 5 and try to select a top egg 🤞🏻
We’ve pushed for day 5 😳 the headings changed a bit last night but still 3 in the grade 1s and some more in the 2s. A few more 3s. They will consider all 1 and 2s so we still had 7 to pin all our hope on. Will be tough not hearing how they are tomorrow but all booked in for a midday transfer on Saturday now 🙌🏼
I know, it's really tough. I went through my first cycle in march/April and found the whole thing really overwhelming! This forum is really good though and I've learnt a lot and feel much more prepared and at ease for my frozen cycle later this month. Try and keep your mind occupied during the 2ww, I found that the hardest part of the process x
Thank you. Right or wrong I’ll be at work in the week and we will head to the seaside for the weekend so hopefully will be keeping busy, but not too busy 😳
