Hi 👋🏻 my AMH was 4.7 and I now have an 11 month old daughter after a round of ICSI in 2017 - I still pinch myself. Good luck with your treatment. X

Wow!!! This is superb news. Huge congratulations to you!! This also gives me a lot of hope. 😁 thank you xxx

Yes. My friend had an AMH of under 1. She went to a clinic in greece for her ivf and had twins, both boys and both healthy. She had a very long and difficult road to getting (and staying pregnant) and her boys are really a blessing. She has a daughter from a previous relationship but that was years ago. She's a constant source of inspiration.

I'm also someone with low AMH. Mine is 6.2 but according to American standards, I have a 'diminished ovarian reserve'. Something like that has been hard to adjust to but remember - it's not about that and that alone. There are so many factors that contribute to a healthy baby.

Wishing you the best.

Thank you for replying! This has been very helpful! Have you been through IVF or ICSI? xx

Hi!

Apologies in advance for the long story! After three years of trying. I had three AMH tests done. One on the NHS and two privately. All came back low at 1.6. I also found out I had grade two tubal disease. Both my tubes were operated on. Clearing a mass of adhesions that completely blocked both fallopian tubes and my pelvis.

I was told I had almost no chance of conceiving due to the low egg reserve and the state of my tubes. My consultant asked me how I felt about accepting a donor egg and starting ivf immediately.

Feeling completely depressed at my low chances and the huge cost of taking out a loanfor private ivf my partner and I decided, against ALL advice to leave it a year and clear our heads. The stress and shocked had become so overwhelming. I spent a year in a very dark place. Trying to come to terms with everything.

A year and a half later I read about Chinese medicine and acupuncture. I decided to give it a shot. I found a local Chinese doctor. During the initial consultation the doctor asked me my fertility history. She checked my pulse and looked at my tongue. She said she needed to clear my liver and regulate my hormones with acupuncture. I thought it was all a bit bizarre at first!

I began with a five week course. I went religiously each week. One hour lying flat with about 10 tiny tiny needles in my stomach, hands, forehead, legs, ankles and feet. Listening to calming music. I would usually fall asleep. Each week the Chinese doctor would feel my pulse and tell me, for example “in 24 hours you will get your period” or in “48 hours you will ovulate”. She was always spot on!

I started Chinese acupuncture in mid November and by The 3rd Feb I was pregnant! I’m now 20 weeks and expecting a little girl. I can’t say this will work for everyone but it’s worth a try. The odds were so against me!

I’m continuing with the acupuncture throughout my pregnancy. I’ve had no morning sickness. My acupuncturist even treats pregnancy constipation and insomnia. She also treats post natal depression.

Good luck in your journey. Having a vision and some direction helped me so much. Each time I lay there with the needles doing there “magic powers” I would visualise the egg trying to get down the damaged tubes and out the other side!

Sending hope and positivity your way! xx

Thank you this is really helpful! I have always been a bit dubious about acupuncture but lots of people recommend it so I’m going to give it a go! Thank you and huge huge congratulations to you xxx

Thank you! Best of luck to to you! I would definitely recommend a Chinese acupuncturist. It’s an ancient form of medicine for them. They seem to be so tuned in to your body! xx

Can I ask if you got pregnant naturally or with ivf? I’m currently having acupuncture with a fertility specialist. She’s also done a Mizan massage and I do castor oil packs. My periods are so much healthier now. No pain or clots anymore.

susu82 profile image
susu82 in reply toRedpixie

Naturally! Although I know a lot of people have acupuncture alongside ivf and have great results!

Redpixie in reply tosusu82

Oh congratulations! It gives me hope. I was having acupuncture for a frozen transfer but I got a BFN so she’s doing it for egg health now which I believe is slightly different.

Yes it’s seems also very good for egg health too. If your whole system is an energy flow then it all needs to flow in the right direction for you to produce healthy eggs. Acupuncture is meant to unblock the energy channels. (Sounds a bit hippy but I really think it works!) I’ve got my fingers crossed for you!! X

Thanks! It really helped so far with my period and relaxation so I’m very open minded for it working. I’ve just had some good news from the nhs doctor that my success rate is 35%!

I am 38 and my AMH was 5.2 I was told I had very little chance of conceiving naturally. We had one round of unsuccessful IVF followed by a miscarriage after conceiving naturally and then 3 months later i conceived naturally again and she it stuck! now have a 4 month old gorgeous little girl x I had reflexology throughout and also took low dose aspirin everyday as recommend by our consultant x

Yes, amh 2.7 and conceived naturally 3 times.

I found reflexology the most helpful. All 3 times I conceived were when I started a proper routine of reflexology with a reproductive reflexologist xx

I’m definitely going to try this. Unfortunately I’ve had an ectopic and have endo so I think I’ll need further fertility help but your story helps to keep me positive. Thanks for the reply xx

I was told I had an AMH level of 3.5, 2 years ago. After taking advice on nutrition and supplements, stopping drinking etc.... I conceived two months later. It was the week we were about to start IVF. My baby boy is now almost 18 months old. It just takes one egg, so my advice is to concentrate on making it a super egg! Wishing you so much luck. X

Thank you so much! Just a great story to keep me going xx

hey yes! I did 4 ivf cycles, had 2 natural mc and 6 months before my 40th I paid for an amh test which gave me the age bracket of 45+ 3 months later I conceived my rainbow miracle, he's 14 months old next week.

I had tried everything, as a last resort I cut out gluten, it's worth a try.

Best of luck xx

Hi, I have an AMH of 7.1 and had one failed round of ivf. There were no eggs collected. I was told by the consultant I was like an empty ATM machine and recommended donor which I cant do. Anyway the following month I did get pregnant naturally although I miscarried, it actually did happen after two years of trying. The things I changed prior to getting pregnant were I started having mizan therapy (womb and ovary massage) and took ubinquinol from my period to ovulation.
