Hi folks :-) hoping to hear success stories in the same situation, failed icsi in april. Only had 3 eggs only 2 fertilised. Both transferred but chemical 3 days after otd. Talk about a mixture of emotions over the space of a week!! Anyway dh has low sc (4mil) so I was disappointed as to my low number of eggs. Review of failed icsi last week and told my amh was 17.1, I thought this was pretty good for my age (35) ? Am I correct in thinking this? Anyway I was injecting 225 in that cycle so she suggested increasing it in next cycle,to 275, next cycle not to Jan:-( ). I'm currently taking dhea after reading recommendations on here, but is it more increasing quality than quantity? Just worried about my eggs now as that was my one an only nhs cycle and had none to freeze and I assume as I get older they will get less.

Wishing everyone on current cycle success xx

Firstly sorry for your loss and having to wait - it is all so frustrating and feels like every next step takes forever! !

he taking wellman conception? That really did improve my oh's count and quality...am not great with the numbers but think 17 is good - I had reduced amh to about 11 following an operation (lap for removal of severe endo and reshaping of uterus) and was recommended to focus on quality and to go on the zita west IVF diet and also to do acupuncture - the acupuncture was more about the endo but the acupuncturist gave loads of helpful advice about egg quality too - I only got 6 eggs at our last cycle (I was on a higher dose too I think and during the scans kept getting the dose increased as nothing much was happening till the last couple of days) of which 4 fertilised but by day 5 only 1 was viable and just a 2bb grade, however that is now a 27 week pregnancy so it can happen with just 1! Focus on your general well being as much as possible - I was on chlorella and very high grade fish oil as well as the special diet - not sure what it was that worked but something did! Wishing you all the very best for your next cycle x

Hi ya sry only getting replying now, first of all congrats on ur pregnancy not long now :-) no he takes zinc every day and proxeed though he really hates it as it Isla horrible tasting drinking, I might suggest wellman instead. I shud start acupuncture bow I think an take fish oils then too, every little helps.

Hi,

I am 39 and have been told my AmH is 9.6. I have had a unsuccessful ivf cycle, 19 eggs, 7 fertilised, only one started to turn to blastocyst by day 5. My doctor has suggested I take DHEA with CoQ10 and the clinic recommends I take this for a minimum of 6 weeks before next go. I am hoping for quality over quantity next round as 19 eggs feels wasteful! Doctor has changed the dose of my drugs for next time as I reacted better than she thought I would.

Hey hum, my amh is low for my age and it was at 8.4 last year. On my first cycle i only got 3 eggs and I was so disappointed. My first cycle failed and I was so upset. However my second cycle I had a change in medication and I got 13 eggs! And I have some in the freezer now. My second cycle did fail but I was happy I aciehevd 5 blasytcoyst embryos. I'm having Futher tests done before i start with my frozen cycle. Good luck x

Wow that's a massive increase, sorry about it first ivf fail, such hard process. So what did they change you from and to? Whatever it was must made a big difference. Did u take any supplement?

On my first ivf cycle I was ok 450iu of bemfola and then the second cycle I was on 225 of menopur and this was then reduced to 150 as I was doing well. Even though both cycles didnt work I and thankful I have some frozen. I am going to have some implantation testing completed to see why the embryos are not sticking. Wish me luck! X

I would say that was a fairly decent AMH for sure! Mine was only 7.19. I took DHEA in preparation for my 2nd and 3rd cycle and convinced this helped for quality and even helped quantity slightly!

Hi ya :-) yeah like u I assumed any was spot on but then why so little eggs was my query. I'm on dhea 50mg? I know it improves quality but let's hope quantity aswell along side stronger dose of medication next time round x

I know but the Drs basically said to me that your first cycle is just trial and error to see how respond. One of my friends recently had a much better cycle after taking the 75mg of DHEA and a stronger dose so fingers crossed!!xx

Yeah seems to b that way, my scans showed plenty of follicles but apparently now they say they must have been cysts, next time they will take blood tests at scans to check estrogen level is at the right level for the number of follicles showing, apparently this is only way of telling difference if it follicles or cysts.
