Starting FET #3

Started medication for my third FET yesterday, really hoping we might be third time lucky 🤞 feeling a mix of emotions, excited to be started again but also super nervous of failing again and facing even bigger disappointments. Hope everyone has had a good week xx

Thank you, good luck to you also. I’ve got a scan booked for 20th May and then they’ll let me know the date for transfer x

I’ve just had my second failed cycle got a BFN on the 9th may was so upset but was lucky to have 1 to freeze this time. Want to get on with it straight away have my follow up on Monday. May I ask what meds you are taking and is it daily for 2 weeks? Don’t really know much about FET and how long it takes compared to fresh cycle..

Sorry to hear about your BFN they are so hard but it really helps having next steps. On the last 2 cycles I had to take oestrogen tablets which slowly got increased from the first day of my period. I had a scan between days 10-14 and then started progesterone pessaries at 5 days before transfer, these were twice a day and continued during the 2ww. This time round exactly the same but they are adding in lubion injections daily as for both previous rounds I had spotting and I think they are hoping maybe extra/different progesterone will help. Hope this makes sense, let me know what they say at your follow up meeting xx

Thank you that makes total sense.. I was on lubion injections daily as well as progesterone twice a day for this cycle just gone. Hoping they try something else as I had 2 embryos put back in this time and was praying that would double my chances. 😔. Hope it’s third time lucky for the both of us xx

Hi Ruthie82,

I just want to say that it is also an option to do a natural FET without any meds. They just track your ovulation and let you know the transfer date after the surge is there (5 days if you have a frozen blastocyst). I just went through that and now 14 weeks pregnant Good luck with whatever you decide!

They want to do a short protocol instead of long, and put two embryos back this time. The first time I attempted short protocol it got cancelled halfway through, am scared it will happen again. X
