Natural BFP - worried

Hi fellow warriors! So I’m in utter disbelief, our IVF cycle was cancelled due to Covid, due to start stims on next period and no next period came... today I did a test and got a BFP. We’ve been TTC for almost 3 years so I don’t think my heart can believe this might be happening. I also had a miscarriage in December 2018, after a natural BFP, so I’m feeling so scared that that’s going to happen all over again. Anyone have any advice? Anything I should be doing in terms of checking bloods/progesterone levels or anything like that? Thank you and sending loads of love. I know (like myself) all of you just want that BFP as a first step. If it can happen for me it can happen for you!!! ❤️

Wow!!! Congratulations xx

Wow congratulations! I had a natural BFP after 4 years (unfortunately MC due to thyroid not controlled) but my fertility doc said if I were to fall pregnant naturally again I'd need progesterone support. Give your clinic a call and ask if they need to give you anything. Bit in all honesty, the best thing you can do for yourself and the baby is relax. I hope all goes well ❤ xxx

Thank you, I’ll give them a call. I’ve been on levothyroxine for the last 3 weeks (maybe the reason for my BFP?!) so asking whether I need any extra support is a good shout

So happy to hear that levo might have helped. Im on it as well for a year now. Did you get yours from gp or your clinic? Worth to ask for a blood test as your dose might have to be upped xxx you have got this ❤️

The GP completely overlooked my thyroid, as did my first fertility clinic! Second fertility clinic prescribed 25mcg which I’ve been taking for 3 weeks. Who knows if that’s what did the trick 🤷🏻‍♀️ best of luck with your journey xx

It took 2 years after they started me on thyroxine to fall. I would imagine it would take more than 3 weeks but you never know!

I stupidly stopped taking them as I was told I was only on them to regulate my periods (I have hashimotos) and I had a MMC..so whatever you do, take them every day. I would ask to get your thyroid added on to your booking bloods at midwife around 8 or 9 weeks and speak to your go about the results, they might take it up to 50mcg (it's very common to increase the dose in pregnancy) And you should be under consultant led care.

Wishing you the best of luck xxx

That’s great news! I would contact the clinic and go for hgc test. I also had a miscarriage few months ago after natural conception and I just joined a fertility clinic today. I hope all goes well for you this time! 💕

Hey. Congratulations.

I am in a similar situation to u! I was due to start IVF on this cycle but am 5 weeks pregnant today! After 2 previous MC I can’t let myself get excited just in case it happens again!

I also haven’t told my clinic as will be discharged from them and at 42 this was my only chance for a free cycle so am a bit in limbo!

If u find out anything that might help us both please let me know!

Good luck! X

Congrats Ket! I’m crossing my fingers for both of us that these ones stick! It makes sense that you would not tell your clinic if it means you would be discharged, not fair, but probably for the best until you have a bit more certainty. I called my clinic and am going for hcg bloods later today. Will let you know if they say anything that might help xx

Just seen this - Congratulations!! It’s stories like this that give me hope and remind me that miracles do happen... I’ve not had a natural BFP so no advice other than to speak to your clinic and GP and ask what they’d advise. Take care xx

This happened with me and I now have a 2 and a half year old. I was in total disbelief too but with each scan, I felt more confident. I paid for a private scan around 8 weeks to check the heartbeat. A word of caution - my clinic said that because I’d conceived naturally, I couldn’t have any more funded IVF so maybe hold off telling them for a bit. Fingers and toes crossed that you get your miracle baby xx
