So I’m on round 1 of clomid and currently on CD 32 and I’ve had 2 negative pregnancy tests. On CD 21 I had progesterone bloods done which came back at 33 and consultant said I ovulated and to expect a period this weekend. This hasn’t happened and I’ve tested twice for pregnancy. I rang doctors to ask about my day 28 bloods and they have gone up to 58 now.
They basically said I might not have reached my ovulation peak and so could have ovulated later so could still be expecting a period this weekend but then surely it’s not good to have such long cycles? They also said it could be a v v v early pregnancy but then seemed to focuse on me coming on my period so I guessed that wasn’t their main suspicion
Has anyone had anything similar I’m going out my mind! She said I didn’t need to be concerned about when I ovulate as long as having regular sex, which we do aim for but still I would like to have some rough idea particularly for predicting periods, when to do pregnancy tests etc.
I don’t have any previous cycles to compare it to as I have PCOS and didnt get periods at all except for provera induced or when I was on the pill so no idea what’s normal for me.
Any help greatly appreciated, thank you 💛

So I don't have PCOS but know that Clomid can affect people who have 'normal' cycles so it's entirely possibly you ovulated really late. And you might not be able to predict when your period is. But 58 is a really good progesterone level.
I recommend temp charting for confirming ovulation. (I used temp charting as a contraceptive for a while - the good old days of contraception!!) I temp chart for a the days around when I think I ovulate and wait for a couple of days of a rise then I know we can chill out about having sex. Keep an eye on cervical mucus too. I recommend book how to take charge of your fertility.
Also day 32 - your not out of the game yet you could have ovulated really late fingers crossed x
Thanks so much for your reply. This is what is so confusing my day 21 results were 33 so confirmed ovulation which would mean I ovulated some time before day 21 but then progesterone kept rising! I wasn’t sure if I could have ovulated later if they already confirmed it at that stage. It’s such a science isn’t it!! Makes my head hurt. I’ll try the temping next cycle (if it ever arrives!) xx
Your progesterone continues to rise once you have ovulated and reaches a peak, usually this peak is a week after ovulating, so it still makes sense to me, fingers crossed anyhow X
