Donor egg failed

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if there Is anyone using donor eggs and where you are all up to. I am currently on 3 donor transfer 😪 3dp5ft of an expanded blast. 1st cycle BFN 2nd cycle HCG 15. This one I feel out already . Anyhow I am wondering do I stay with my clinic now for more or do I move? Has anyone had more then 2 donor egg cycles? And did you Clinic change anything? Mine have been same for each cycle. Current meds 8mg Progynova and 2 patches. 800msuppositories and 1 injection of progesterone (this is only change) as they said progesterone was lower this time. I guess I am just getting desperate now after 2 failed with my own eggs and now most likely 3 donor egg fails x

Hey, Im doing DE cycles. I had 3 failed OE cycles and moved to DE. We have had 3 failed transfers and the last one we got a BFP but lost it at 6 weeks when I spontaneously miscarried. My clinic have tried to change a few things for me each time. After our loss we only had one embryo in the freezer (out of 6) so we decided that we would do a fresh DE cycle and our donor has given us 4 really good embryos. So my clinic did a hysteroscopy after our first DE failure, we had such good embryos (1 hatching and the other fully hatched) and BFN. The clinic took biopsies from my uterus and they also removed some old scar tissue and we had lots of bloods done. At this point we added clexane (blood thinner) in to the mix and tried intralipids, again BFN. I also discovered my TSH was a bit raised which was affecting my prolactin so started on levothyroxine. I asked at this point if I could try steriod cover as I'd seen a few ladies on here have success with this, consultant wasnt overly keen I must admit but said I could try and it would do no harm. So we added in prednisolone and we got our first ever BFP on that one. So for the next one we will do all of the above. Cant say 100% if this worked or just luck....will never know really and I do think there is a lot of luck involved! Another girl I have chatted with on here got her BFP with steriod cover so who knows but defo something to ask about if this cycle doesnt give you a BFP. It is so disheartening getting BFN's over and over, I can definitely relate to that. Are your embryos of good quality? Have you had any investigations done such as the ones Ive mentioned? I defo dont think that you're out, I really cant say that I felt that different from my failed cycles so dont read too much into what you are or arent feeling just now! Wishing you all the luck in the world and sending hugs!xx

P.s the only other thing that I changed was I asked to not down regulate before my cycle as I felt like it waw switching my body off too much as I felt terrible on it....done this for my last 2 transfers. Only take progynova to thicken my lining but clinic are thinking they might give me patches this time to help with my lining as I usually dont have the thickest of linings.xx

According to the doctor my endometrium and uterus where beautiful 🤣 on day of transfer and that I also had a beautiful embryo. I’ve never had any investigations, nor a scratch ect. I’m sorry you had so many negs, but lovely news now love. If I am out of this one I’ll mention the steroids. Just annoying as more money to scrape together and really should I have to mention these things to them!! Frustrating. Thanks for replying. Ps my previous transfers where hatching blasts and this one expanding

It is hard to think back that something simple could make a diffference and the money that its cost us is hard to swallow sometimes too....I try not to think about that one too much or Id cry! Ha ha ha Apparently the latest evidence doesnt say that steriods make much difference in getting a BFP but its all that's really worked so far and like I say could just be luck but worth a shot. Hopefully next time it will work again and this little one will stick this time around! It was mazing to get a BFP and although we miscarried it gave us hope that we can at least get pregnant now. We've had great embryos every time and even the consultant is shocked that the previous ones didnt work, he pretty much thought they were a dead cert and he wouldnt see us again unless it was for a sibbling....if only it had been that easy!! Wishing you all the best!xx

I hope things work out for you. I can understand how you might be feeling. I was in the same boat as well. I think your doctor will carefully have to analyze the situation and do what will suit you the most. This is something that is important to do at the time. Make sure you have a proper conversation with your doctor asking them about the next step. Good luck to you! Sending baby dust your way.

Hiya

I don’t post on here much if at all I pop in and out.

I am like Cinderella with 3 privately funded cycles of OE all

BFN, then a first time successful BFP DE round that sadly ended in late miscarriage at 17.5 weeks, followed by same clinic 2 different donors same protocol no freeze 3 x transfers all

Blasts sadly BFN that makes round number 7 all Privately funded, had hysteroscopy and implantation cuts but still nothing.

Finally now changing clinics and going for a last shot with everything available that my last clinic wouldn’t use hopefully we get the 3 blasts to transfer along with the added addition of steroids and s few others things I have not had also intralipids hoping for a rainbow cos this is out last ever shot we started this journey in 2014 it’s tiring and draining both emotionally, financially, sex life, relationships, friends and then everything else.

Wishing you the best it’s like Russian roulette.... it’s not guaranteed and it’s luck of the draw, so many woman who i started with and come after have been lucky.

Good luck to you xx

I am sorry to here what you have been through and I’m praying that you get your miracle. I’m privately funded for all rounds too about £30,000 at the minute and I think I’ll have to take finance for the next not which will be our last too x hope we get to where we lol want x

Hi, I am sorry you are going through this. A few friends of my sis were in the same shoes. After 2 failed IVF-s one lady changed a clinic, and had 1st time success with IVF clinic in Poland. The second lady combined her treatment with acupuncture, and got pregnant via IVF DE. However in both cases clinics made changes into protocols. Good luck

Uurrghhh hang on in there, its still incredibly early! I know its really hard to stay away from testing early when you've had previous failures but if its making you feel down then do try. I think I started testing around day 8 and I didnt get a faint positive until day 12. I know you're obviously thinking it hadnt worked and looking ahead, I do the same thing as I like to know what my next step would be. There are some places that are a bit more reasonable price wise, Im sure when I looked at you clinic it was pretty expensive so might be worth looking around.xx

Hello there,

I'm doing DE cycles too. Moved on after 3 failed OE cycles and only one of them led to transfer but BFN. Never had a BFP... My first fresh DE transfer last year failed even though I was on Levothyroxine, steroids and extra progesterone throughout the 2ww. My clinic checked my progesterone level on the day of my fresh transfer and it was low! so had to do progesterone injections AND cyclogest.

We have 2 good embryos left and planning an FET in May. My clinic has now added Clexane as well for this FET.

I have gone back on the waiting list for another donor just in case.

I hope things will work out for you. Wishing you the very best of luck

x

I have a progesterone level of 7.55 and I was annoyed that they transferred. I felt they should have maybe postponed but thinking now I supposed my embie would have to of been defrosted. I just feel out. So frustrating but I feel too much stress now to move clinics so I think I’ll stay x
