Hi all, anyone used embryo glue? I was told about it from my optician who said she had it as an add on and had successful pregnancy in her 40s. I asked my clinic about it today and think I will pay for it for my transfer Friday. The cost was £279 but think it might be worth it, taking into consideration ivf costs in general. Don’t think I have anything to lose.
Embryo Glue: Hi all, anyone used embryo... - Fertility Network UK
Embryo Glue
Both of the clinics I have had treatment at have used it as part of their packages included in the price. I would say give it a go x
My Doctor recommended it even if it seems to be a bit experimental still. I did as if anything it will only help, and once you reach egg transfer point anything that help even if just a tiny little bit is worth trying. I always say the same thing in most of my posts, ask your doctors and trust their advice, they are the experts! I think I paid 100pounds
Hya - I’m giving this a go this cycle, just had egg collection. It’s an extra for our self funded cycle and it’s £150. I thought why not I think there is more research in its favour or some of the other things like the scratch! They also offered us embryo scope but we will leave this this time as it’s more expensive at £450 but does look amazing!
My NHS clinic used this as standard so it must have decent results as I cant imagine they would routinely fund something without evidence of it working!! Good luck.xx
I used it for my second and had a better result. That said £700+ seems steep. My clinic is now offering it as part of the price of the cycle. And previously it was £55. You might want to push in the cost. That said now value can be placed on the end result we are all working towards.
Best of luck!
According to HFEA website and the traffic light system they use, embryo glue is amber. There has been studies done and it can have a positive effect.
Wishing you all the best.
My NHS clinic use it as standard and they really don’t support the use of any other supplements/ add ons at all!
As has already been said the official stance is that the jury is still out (I believe some emerging evidence of increased pregnancy rates with day 5 transfers), but if necessary in the future I will also think like you.. if the cost is manageable then nothing to lose.
Good luck! xx
Hiya, we've had it in all 3 transfers but so far only BFNs. Still using it as probably won't do any harm but not sure it does anything for us x
Thanks all for your responses. Think I will go for it, nothing to lose and it’s nice that all you lovely ladies think the same. Got day 5 FET Friday, all 4 thawed out and survived, on Tuesday embryologist called to say 3 out of 4 top grade and forth is just under. Want to be positive with such good news but harder to fall if it fails so not sure how to feel. 2ww will be unbearable I’m sure.
