I was recently exploring the option of immunes testing and natural killer cells but I know that there is not a lot of definitive supporting evidence surrounding both of those things. If it works for you, you believe that's the source of truth but in terms of studies, there isn't concrete evidence to speak of one way or another.
After four losses, it's been suggested to me that I have a uterine nk cells test rather than the traditional Chicago tests that immune doctors do.
There was a Fertility Forum event a day or two ago and it was all about evidence. The doctors at the forum said that uterine nk cells have the most scientific evidence behind it as a plausible factor versus peripheral blood tests.
Has anyone travelled to Warwick to have this test done? I want to understand as much as I can and get all the information I can before we do another cycle.
Hi there I travelled to the Coventry and Warwickshire hospital last year to have this done. It is the exact same procedure as having an endo scratch (and counts as one so time it well with an ivf cycle, they last up to 3 months). For me, I've never fallen pregnant and was hoping this would provide me with some answers but in reality my issue is now likely to be the quality of my eggs. My first biopsy came back with below normal uNK cells and so I went along for my second biopsy. The second came back normal and I was informed during my consultation that I appear to have been lucky in that the first biopsy "reset" my lining bringing my uNk cells into the normal range. If they would have remained below normal, theres not a lot that can be done for it and literally no information on the net. If you have high cells then there seems to be a bit more information and the treatment is widely known. My understanding is that Coventry and Warwickshire's fees go back into the research and when I was there last year there was a slight delay in my results as they had received new machinery. Have you tried searching on here for other related posts? Good luck with your decision xx
