Potentially too many follicles for IUI

Hi. I went for day 8 scan today and the doctor said I was at risk of over stimulating as there are quite a few follicles. He said there were about six but only wrote 4 down on my sheet, I guess 4 big ones. If they are all still good they will cancel it. Has this happened to anyone? Or been the case you did end up being able to go ahead with the iui?

Hi Hopefull. Sometimes when this happens, they transfer to IVF. However, it seems as if they are keeping a close eye on you, so fingers crossed! Diane

Hi Hopeful. Yes, I have known it to happen. You may have to let this one go tough, but make sure they can convert if necessary next round. Good luck! Diane

Cancelled this month but we’ve to try naturally so hopefully one of the 4 big ones I have in there will work for us!

Hi Diane! Do you know if Menopur contains hcg? I stopped taking it on the 1st April and didn’t get the trigger shot. Took a test yesterday and today and have a faint positive but I’m probably a bit early - not exactly sure when I ovulated because the drugs seemed to mess with my normal signs but it was somewhere between 4th and 7th.

Hi Hopefull. No, it is just a gonadatrophin to stimulate your ovaries to produces extra follicles. Diane
