Too many follicles!

So, I have been on ovulation induction injections for 31 days, on day 29 I saw the consultant for a scan as he was considering cancelling the cycle because nothing was happening. He found one follicle that had grown to 10.6 which, for my body was a massive step! Had another scan today and found 12 developing follicles with 3 big ones, these measured 19.6mm 17.2mm and 16.8mm and now been told to abstain until I get AF and start again as they advise not to risk it with three follicles. So frustrating! DH wants us to try anyway as its the first time in two and a half years that one follicle let alone 3 have developed past 7mm! Don't know what to do myself. I may not release all of them, and I may not get pregnant even if we tried.

I am sorry you are faced with such a frustrating decision to make. If you did go ahead and tried on the off chance you may fall pregnant, you would need to understand the risks involved (i.e. Multiple pregnancy) but I am sure you do realise this. Plus, 3 eggs can result on many more than triplets which could cause so many problems... Only you can decide but make sure you take everything into consideration beforehand. Good luck x

It's just really difficult with it being the first time in two and a half years that a follicle has even begun to develop. So it comes with thoughts such as us this the hand I've been waiting for? What if I don't develop any again and then regret not trying while we could! I think I'm more concerned because DH has an exceptional sperm count so higher chance of three being fertilised. I think we are following doctors orders but - just worried that if I ovulate sooner rather than later I could still get pregnant due to not using contraception prior to the update haha.

Hey hon

I had a similar issue this last month. I got pregnant naturally but only find out 2 days before egg collection. By then I had over 20 follicles.

4 days later the pregnancy levels were dropping, ec cancelled and we were told to wait till next period as we risked multiples.

Really tempting though as in past cycles, all fertilised but none made it to blasts💔

With 20 we didn't, but with 3 I would be tempted like you guys are😈

Yeah well 20 is a lot! I've got q2 all together but only three that are 16.5+ the rest are in between 11.3 and 16.2.

We have decided to try, because what if this is what we have been waiting for and we then push away the hand we have been given and we may not get again.
